We hear Lloyd Carr is using a new "Get Laid Like Tom" campaign to beat out Ohio State for recruits. We're going to guess that it will work quite well. After all, Troy Smith never got chicks like these.

Fantasy College Impact: Anyone who pays attention to Michigan knows that drafting Ryan Mallett for a one-season deal would be foolish. Chad Henne (2199 PaYd, 20 PaTD, 7 PaINT) is the guaranteed starter at QB in 2007, health-willing, and no one is going to unseat the senior in his final chance at a National Championship. However, keeper league owners will want to target Mallett, who stands a chance to be the next Tom Brady with the talent he showed in the prep ranks. No word if Mallett is as fertile as Brady, but we're guessing his luck with Ann Arbor women is pretty decent being the 5-star stud the scouts make him out to be.

The latest news for the running game is that Mike Hart (1515 RuYd, 14 RuTD) is out for the spring with "minor" knee surgery. This bodes well for Kevin Grady (187 RuYd, 3 RuTD), who is pretty set at the #2 spot, but don't expect Avery Horn or Vince Helmuth to make much of an immediate impact unless they show some impressive moves during the summer.

In the Wide Receiver slots, there might be a freshman in this class ready to make an impact. Now, you should have no doubt that sophomore sensation Mario Manningham (32 Recep, 624 ReYd, 9 ReTD) will be starting at one of the wideout spots; but Adrian Arrington (36 Recep, 510 ReYd, 7 ReTD) is having legal issues block his spring practice time and Steve Breaston graduated. This leaves one slot open for any of the WR recruits Carr brought in and Toney Clemons and Martell Webb look to have the most talent.

The bottom line is that while Michigan can recruit well for fantasy numbers, most of the 2007 stats from Ann Arbor will come from the Fantasy College Trifecta of Henne, Hart, and Manningham. Keeper leaguers will love this class in 2008, but re-drafters will probably only consider the receivers.
