J.C. Watts has broached an analogy that society does not want to hear. Watts,  former college football star and former congressman, has written an article that points out the apparent reality that while Americans are rightly moved by the cruelty to dogs in the Vick case, there is no parallel outrage about cruelty to babies in situations such as partial-birth abortion. Watts is accurate in his assessment of society. The outrage has been loud and impassioned as commentators and legislators and fans have correctly blasted Vick for killing and maining innocent canies. Yet all the while, doctors can legally allow a child to stick his or her head into this world and then be brutally killed by a doctor--without legal repercussions. Remenber the old saying, " I wouldn,t do that to a dog "? How about " We shouldn,t do that to a baby" ? Kudos to Watts for voicing an observation about society that is unpopular in our postmodern world .
