5. Deion Sanders- A great shutdown corner and a terrible tackler. A mediocre baseball player (.263 avg.) and one of the highest paid players in the league when he played. Were his 3.3 INTs a year worth more than almost everyone else on his team? He was no help in the running game and he definetly was no help to his team's salary cap.
4. Jose Canseco- Although he did have some great seasons, Canseco was never money in the postseason (.184 avg. and .398 slugging). He also didn't play great in the field and perhaps worst of all, brought steroids into the commonplace for the MLB.
3. OJ Simpson- Perhaps a suprise pick to the casual sports fan but if you examine the numbers. He had 1 amazing season (over 2,000 yards) and two good seasons. But he also had 8 seasons with less than 700 yards rushing. Also a bad reciever and blocker out of the backfield. Very inconsistent over his career.
2. Lynn Swann- 9 seasons in the NFL. Averaged less than 40 catches a year, had only 3 Pro Bowl seasons and isnt in the Top 50 in any major category. He had some great playoff performances but are those really enough to outweigh his average-ness as a player? A Hall of Famer? Are you kidding me?
1. Joe Namath- An easy pick in my book. One garuntee and somehow, he is a legend for it. He said the Jets would upset the Colts in the SB and they did. Big deal. In that season, he had 15 TDs and 17 INTs.
Career stats- 50.1 completion percentage. 173 TDs and 220 INTs. How good does "Broadway Joe" look now?
