Just wondering why so many people are surprised by what Lane Kiffin did. The guy has always said the the USC job is his dream job. He has acted like a punk at times (refusing to shake coaches hands at midfield after games, calling other coaches cheaters, etc. etc.) but people are suddenly surprised when he does it again?
The guy has not really proven anything except that he is a good recruiter, and is a average to below average coach if you look at his record. He was barely above .500 at TN lost his bowl game (albeit he was playing a team that was much much better in it.) and only won 5 games in two years in the NFL. That is the entire extent of his head coaching career. I think that he will be a good coach and that he would have done a good job at Tenn if he had stayed, but everyone thought Charlie Weis was going to lead Notre DAme to the promise land of National Championships and we all saw how that ended up.
