I salute anyone willing to die for their country. BSchwartz is a brave and noble man. However, saying that the Iraq war is somehow defending this country is an insult to our collective intelligence. Feel free to rake me over the coals, I will not respond.

I agree with mattmillen--I support BS but won't sport a ribbon or tag in false support for a cause I am against. Good luck, BS, and terps, you are waaay out of line.

Please, guys, our country is obviously not under imminent threat of the Mid East. But saying you don't support the war is scandalous. You can disapprove of the war cause, but it's far too late to not support the war itself. If you suggest we leave the country now, the USA will never hear the end of this from the international community. As of right now, we're trying to set up democracy in Iraq. Will that work? I don't know. But to stop in the middle of rebuilding a country that we just tore down and flee the site, leaving it in ruins with no central government, is absolutely unacceptable. We (President Bush) got us into this boat, and now we have to finish the job. So support the troops AND the war.

I didn't say to leave Iraq. I said that the war was started on a faulty premise, so I'm against it. I never said I hope we lose (we already have) in Iraq or that troops get beaten into returning to the US. I'm against what's going on, and I have the right to be. We can't pretend to care about the needs of Iraq when we completely raped the culture and way of life there. It's going to be in ruins regardless of what we do, but leaving would be admitting to failure. So people like BS get sent into harm's way to keep the war going. So don't anyone ever say that soldiers are fighting in Iraq for America or to protect our freedom. They were sent to fight for a selfish agenda, sent to serve an untrue cause. Don't say they're fighting America's war. They are fighting GW's war, and they have no choice. And don't anyone call me unpatriotic for this, for I feel that supporting the war is unpatriotic and un-American. Let us support the troops and uphold what the country was founded on, not dogmatically support what it does.

In that case, you're against the war CAUSE, which I am in total agreement with.
