This week, I decided I would post my Soccer Mailbag here on Soccer People.  Well, I didn't have many questions this week, so I'll tackle a few issues that new soccer fans would like to know about.  First up is Soccer Transfers.  Many of you, myself included, can't understand the concept of buying, selling, and loaning out players, because we are accustom to the trading of players at first.  See in Europe, players are sent from bought and sold.  The two teams involved decide on an amount and that is how they are moved. You will also see teams loan a player out to another.  They agree on an amount that will suit each side.  The team loaning out the player receives so much per game played for the player being loaned.  Sometimes, teams will "trade players".  But this is different than an American sports trade.  The teams agrre on a player that both like and they trade money for him.  You rarely ever see this happen, however.  Usually players aren't sent for straight cash.  One is usually more than the other player.  The lats kind of transfer is a Free Transfer.  It is just like a free agent in American sports.

The second issue I want to talk about is the signing of Denilson.  FC Dallas finally has the Designated Player that they had been looking for.  He is a former World Cup Champion, and should be a great addition to Dallas.  He is the type of player that Dallas needs as he is a Brazilian superstar.  Expect him to possibly influence more and more Brazilians, either for the better or the worst.

My last topic for disscussion is BS.  I wish him the best of luck in Iraq and I want to thank all those in our military.  I also want to thank all those people who took the  time to wish him good luck.  You will be greatly missed, BS.  Talk to you in April.
