First off, Happy Birthday, Roy. Today the Astros' ace turned 30 years young. One never would've guessed, though. He was only pitching like he was 25.
Despite coming back from injury, Roy-O pitched a gem, blanking the Cards through seven innings on four hits with nine strikeouts, even though he didn't need to since his usually lackluster team mates actually gave him a few birthday runs. The win puts Roy at 14-6 on the season. He's 6-0 in his last 7 starts with a 1.02 ERA. One might recall this is almost, if not better than what NL Cy Young winner Brandon Webb did at the end of last year...
By the way, new skipper Cecil Cooper gets his first win as manager. He's now 1-1. Interesting note: his first loss was 0-7 and his first win was 7-0. Odd, no?
That's my boy, Roy!
