In response to:
Beckham out for MLS season
The curtain has come down early on the first act of the David Beckham show. The English superstar, brought to Major League Soccer in July to inject new life into the league and soccer in the U.S., is done for the season. Beckham suffered a sprained right knee and will be sidelined for "approximately six weeks," the Los Angeles Galaxy said Thursday night. He also will miss the England national team's crucial two Euro 2008 qualifying games against Israel and Russia in London next month and possibly two more in October.
Pardon me while I laugh at the MLS, the soccer apologists, and ESPN. With Beckham missing in action will ESPN still get their ratings? Will people still go to the games? Will people care?
I'm not one to applaud someone being injured, but I believe that this is justice for all the people who swore that Beckham would save soccer in America.

I dont know much about soccer but scan the headlines in the sports pages and I dont understand the big deal about a guy that seems to just trot in for a goal now and then when healthy. That must suck !
