Yesterday's game was one the most exciting games I can ever remember. You could see how much the Mets wanted to win by having Billy Wagner go two innings. Jason Werth stealing 2nd and 3rd in the 9th was an unbelievable bright baseball play. Pat Burrell is playing amazingly well and this team never gives up and seems to just have " it" .
The Padres lost last night so the Phillies are two games behind the Mets for 1st and two games behind in the Wild Card.
The good news is that the Phillies play the Marlins and the Braves and the Mets play each other. San Diego plays the Dodgers. Seems like a good mtchup for the Phillies and a good time to pick up more ground.
Say good bye to Freddy Garcia. He had surgery on Wednesday and his Phillies career would seem ot be over.

The phillies are a weird team. They have a better chance of winning when they're down by two in the 8th, rather than up by two in the 8th.

I think they should pick up a game on the Mets by the weekend's end. The Mets have to face Hudson and Smoltz
