ST. LOUIS - DT NDAMUKONG SUH, NEB
I haven't heard one good reason why this won't happen, so unless Suh bombs at the combine or something... you can skip the first few minutes of the draft.
DETROIT - FS ERIC BERRY, TENN
potential trade down given they need a lot and teams may or may not feel strongly about McCoy, Berry, Haden, or even Suh if for some reason the rams pass... if not, they take the best available, then player who will make the biggest impact and that's definitely Mr. Berry
TAMPA BAY - OT RUSSELL OKUNG, OK ST
got the guy they think will be their QB, so they have to protect him... I don't even know who Donald Penn is, but he's from Utah state and he's supposed to take care of freeman's posterior... yeah, about that....btw, passing up McCoy is hard to do here, but I gotta be different I suppose
SEATTLE(traded by redskins) - QB SAM BRADFORD, OU
back to back from the sooner state. I know Pete wants his guy in there to take charge of the offense, this way Sam gets a year or two behind Hasselbeck whereas if Pete waits for Barkley to come out, he'd likely be starter from the jump. Seattle jumps in front of DC to grab the QB... Pete just has to convince the front office this is a good idea...
KANSAS CITY - CB JOE HADEN, FLORIDA
in a div. who's top dog features one of the games top QBs, chiefs will need a shutdown corner. Brandon flowers really isn't even a corner and Carr isn't cuttin it.
WASHINGTON(from seattle) - OT ANTHONY DAVIS, RUTGERS
one of the 6 or 7 players comin outta the state of oklahoma that could go first round. impressive... Samuels is up in the air and even if he does come back, he's on and off injury problems still justify this pick. no jimmy claussen sorry...
TENNESSEE(trade w/ browns) - DT GERALD MCCOY, OU
here's what I got...like to shake things up with a couple players higher or lower than what the experts think and I love doing Mock Drafts while incorporating projected trade. Holmgren is in Cleveland now he wants to build, he trades down to get extra picks. Titans DT just had offseason knee surgery and the middle wasn't really too hot to begin with.
OAKLAND - DE/OLB DERRICK MORGAN, GA TECH
Best value on the board... could the raiders possibly take the best value left on the board? Crazier things have happened, I think...
BUFFALO BILLS - QB JIMMY CLAUSEN, ND
I would've never mocked this had Chan gailey not been hired by the bills...Chan is prone to wanting his own QB and also to making bad decisions so even though they could use an OL, WR, CB, S...etc and pick up a QB like Kafka later in the draft, it's unlikely.
NEW YORK GIANTS(from DENVER via CHICAGO) - LB ROLANDO MCCLAIN, BAMA
When the defense fell apart I could only think one thing: Antonio pierce is nowhere to be found. McClain could either replace pierce now, replace him in a year, or they could slide either to the outside, most likely pierce since he began his career as an outside linebacker.
JACKSONVILLE - S TAYLOR MAYS, USC
Taylor could bring that edge back to the jags defense. Their pass defense struggled all year and their lack of heart and character cost them a couple more wins that would've earned them a playoff berth. Jack Del Rio has ties to USC and I know Mays is high on his draft board, he'd lose his mind to get a guy like Mays. Tebow? Keep dreaming...if staying in JAX comes at the expense of drafting him in the top 15, then I say everyone pack their bags for los Angeles, it's not worth it.
MIAMI - LB BRANDON SPIKES, FLORIDA
Here's one of my risk/reward picks. Channing Crowder is currently the QB of the Miami defense and while it would seem Sparano wants no part in messing up a defense that's been solid for the past couple years, Crowder is best suited on the outside in my opinion. Bring a true MLB in to co-QB the defense and move Channing out to where he can make more plays.
SAN FRANCISCO - LB NAVORRO BOWMAN, PSU
Bowman could potential play any lb position in the 3-4, with the excepted of rush LB...but who knows right... I think bowman is a nice versatile LB for Singletary to depend on in pass coverage and when you have AZ lining up 5 wide, Seattle with a solid slot receiver and TE then an LB that can cover is a nice thing to have
WASHINGTON(from Seattle) - RB C.J. SPILLER, CLEMSON
just to clarify I have Washington giving up their 1st, 2 twos, and a 4th for Seattle's 2 firsts, a 4th, and a 5th...does Washington come out on the better end? Actually, I wouldn't be so sure. Seattle gets their guy. You'd think I was crazy to have the skins give up a 1st on an RB when the skins have an RB that not only is pro bowl caliber but is Shanahan's former draft pick, but portis has been injury prone for a while now, he doesn't have explosion anymore, and heart is questionable at time. Spiller not only provides versatility for the offense but can finally release former FB Rock Cartwright of his KR duties...PLEASE!!!
DENVER(from NYG) - DT DAN WILLIAMS, TENN
Too high? Idk... all I know is this guys a plug in the middle who can also disrupt the QB. Exactly what Denver's defense needed when their defense fell apart at key points throughout the season. Broncos D is one piece away from elite status, he could be the piece, then again so could Carlos Dunlap or Earl Thomas
CLEVELAND(from titans) - DE CARLOS DUNLAP, FLORIDA
Cleveland and holmgren trade down to maybe eye a WR, but when Dunlap flaps down the board to #16 they have no choice but to get a player who could play multiple positions on Cleveland's defense and become a star in the NFL.
SAN FRANCISCO(from CAROLINA) - S EARL THOMAS, TEXAS
A mediocre offense goes defense with both 1st round picks? Well...yes
PITTSBURGH - RB JAHVID BEST, CAL
Can we all agree Parker is done? Can we also agree that Mendenhall has some injury issues? Can we agree the Steelers wait
Til later to address their glaring needs on the OL, DL, LB, and in the secondary to draft a RB? A lot of agreement is needed to make this possible but nonetheless, Best is a rare talent in the backfield and on the outside as a receiver.
ATLANTA - OG MIKE IUPATI, IDAHO
HOUSTON - OT TRENT WILLIAMS, OU
Another piece of the puzzle for that offense.
CINCINNATI - QB TIM TEBOW, FLORIDA
Here's the thing, the Bengals have a solid team the whole way around. There's no glaring need other than at TE. But the Bengals have never had a good TE and Tebow could potential be a TE. What the Bengals need is something to shake things up and give them the edge they didn't have this season. Tebow could throw, run, catch(?), block...possibly even tackle if need be. I can only imagine the possibilities.
NEW ENGLAND - OT BRUCE CAMPBELL, MARYLAND
One of my fallers in the draft. Projected top 10, he slips a bit because he's still a tad raw. The pats are experiencing a matt light that is losing a step and I think is better suited to play on the right side.
ST. LOUIS(from packers) - WR DEZ BRYANT, OK ST.
with no WR off the board, which I'll admit is unlikely at this point, St. Louis upgrades their pick at 33 to come snag a potential star WR.
PHILADELHIA - OT BRIAN BULAGA, IOWA
Everson griffen looks good right here. I just don't know how bad they really need him. Depth on the OL I know they need. They definitely need help on defense but I'm not sure griffen is the ticket.
BALTIMORE - WR ARRELIOUS BENN, ILLINOIS
A little more size than Golden and certainly a higher touted talent throughout the years, the Ravens aren't going to the Super Bowl until Flacco gets a legitimate target to throw too and getting Benn this late in the 1st round? Steal...
ARIZONA - DE JASON PIERRE PAUL, USF
Bert Berry's eventual replacement. Jason is raw, of course, so he gets a year possibly two to sit behind Berry and learn from a guy who knows every trick in the book when it comes to playin DE.
DALLAS - OT CHARLES BROWN, USC
Time to think about Flozell's replacement. Is Brown the guy? Well, we know Doug free isn't.
SAN DIEGO - RB JONATHAN DWYER, GA TECH
A few needs here for San Diego, but can't pass Dwyer up. They have to be able to run the ball more consistently.
NEW ORLEANS - OLB SEAN WEATHERSPOON, MIZZ
Say whatever you want about how head strong and fundamentally sound the Saints two OLBs are, but I don't care...they need a guy there with some explosive talent...ding ding, we have a winner.
INDIANAPOLIS - DT BRIAN PRICE, UCLA
Indy is familiar with underrated players from UCLA(reggie miller). Golden Tate seems like a very attractive option here, but Peyton will throw to whoever is out there, they need to ensure stability on the defensive side of the ball and Price is the exact athletic powerhouse DT the Colts love.
NEW YORK JETS - DE/OLB SERGIO KINDLE, TEXAS
How does Sergio kindle fall this far? Idk...but hopefully something happens between now and the draft that justifies it lol. Anyway, where's Vernon Gholston...is he selling insurance somewhere yet? Who knows? Anyway, Kindle, no matter what has too much talent to pass up at this position in the draft.
MINNESOTA - DT JARED ODRICK, PSU
With injuries and questions about Kevin and pat Williams throughout the season, Odrick provides insurance and an option for the future for the Vikes. Should be a solid special teamer in the mean time.
