It is now the umpteenth day into the season and every draft pick of every team is signed
Except the first pick that is
With the Raiders current logjam at QB (Culpepper, McCown, Andrew Walter, Josh Booty) The question remains: Do they really need JaMarcus Russell. I know he's the first overall pick in this year's draft but come on we're already into the end of the preseason going into the regular season and this guy still isn't signed. I mean every time I hear about his situation it's always he hasn't signed yet he hasn't signed yet the two sides are miles apart on a deal. The kid wanted $30 million in guarantees and he hadn't even played a DOWN of football yet I mean for God's sake at this rate we won't even know if this kid is worth ANYTHING I mean he could be another Tim Couch another David Carr or dare I say it another Ryan Leaf Akili Smith or David Klingler.
In the end I say if this kid is going to be difficult with wanting more and more money when he hasn't even played in a GAME yet then he wasn't worth being drafted first. This is a disaster an a half for Raider Nation and Al Davis. I say at this point let him sit out the year re-enter the draft next year and let someone else take him I guarantee he won't be drafted first again. He losing out on a golden opportunity to play in the NFL over money issues.
It's his loss.
