Yes it hurts, boy does it hurt...And I'm not even a Wolverine fan, but I know the feeling all to well. The feeling as if someone just kicked your dog, forced you to listen to crappy music, went number 2 on your car, or even face pushed you (by far the worst). These are all common feelings when dealing with an upset of this magnitude, but guess what, it gets better.
Instead of whining about the loss, pointing the finger, and calling for someones job... do your job. Your job as a fan is to rally around your team, support them even though it's hard to do. Defend your team, stay optimistic, because you are not the first fan to be upset, and you sure as hell won't be the last.
Ask yourself one question..."How do you think the players feel?" Think about that one for a second...Got it? They probably hurt 20 times worse than you, some sacrificed millions at a shot for the national title, for college glory, only to be talked about non-stop on ESPN as if the world was coming to an end. Imagine being reminded of that 100 times a day. We...we can all go about our daily lives, occupying our time with other activities. Them...that is there life, those are there daily activities.
We all have the right to be "arm chair quarterbacks" or "love seat coaches", but another part of our rights and responsibilities as fans and self-proclaimed football analysts, is the fact that we need to show some love, show some compassion for these kids, write positive blogs every now and again, instead of always being so negative.
Michigan fans, I have the right to say these things...I am a volunteer. We have been in the dark and overrated since 1998. I have been dissapointed time and time again by my team, but you know what I continually tell myself?? "Theres always next year", or "we still could win the SEC", because it is true. If your a REAL fan, that is what you'll do, if you trully love your program as you say you do, then step up.
Enjoy the game of college football, but remember..."Theres always next year", and that dog of yours knows how to take some punishment.
