I am still holding to my opinion that the Phillies are going to make the playoffs but they as usual make it hard to really, really believe that.
They are 3 down in the Wild Card and 5 to the Mets. As I write this the Mets are down 7-0 to the Reds in the 8th and if the Phillies who are up 5-0 in the 5th also hold on they will finish the day 4 behind the Mets. They will also pick a game in the Wild Card since the D Backs and the Padres are tied and for top spot in the Wild Card and they play each other tonight.
The upcoming schedule has the Phillies home for 7. Three against the Marlins and 4 against the Rockies. Not so bad when you are looking to pick up games. The Mets play 3 with Houston and 3 with Atlanta at home and then the Phillies come to town.
The Phillies starting Friday night play 17 days in a row. Yikes.
According to Baseball Prospectus the Phillies have a 24.37 % chance of winning the Wild Card and 28.228% of making the playoffs.
