I'm in a predictive mood today so here are my (very) early 2008 NBA award predictions. Note that we are currently 3 weeks to the start of training camp so to say that these picks are completely irrelevant would be a massive understatement.
MVP: Steve Nash - In what will be widely regarded as the biggest make-up call in NBA history, David Stern will say "Yeah, we royaly screwed up last year".
Rookie of the Year: Kevin Durant - Greg Oden will get his fair share of hardware but I think the first piece goes to Durant.
Defensive Player of the Year: Tim Duncan - He's always right there and I think Bowen loses a step next year (he has to soon, he's like 60 years old).
Coach of the Year: Marc Iavaroni - I can't pick Memphis to make the playoffs (in my other post) and not give Iavaroni the credit. The fact he came from Phoenix may also sway my vote.
Sixth Man of the Year: Manu Ginobli - Unless San Antonio moves him to the starting line up.
Most Improved Player: Darko Milicic - Maybe I'm backing Memphis too much.
