The start to February has been horrendous for those who support Arsenal, with back-to-back defeats against title rivals Manchester United and Chelsea, the pundits proclaimed Arsenal's season over and even I'd started to believe them.
But this season is turning out to be a lot less predictable than seasons gone by; the mid-week fixtures had Man Utd v. Aston Villa, Chelsea v. Everton and Arsenal v. Liverpool, of the 3, Arsenal had the toughest task given that Liverpool is one of the top 4 teams and a regular title contender, the other two were facing mid-table opposition, which they should have been able to deals with comfirtably. In the end Chelsea ended up losing 2-1 and Man Utd could only get a 1-1 draw, Arsenal managed to put the past 2 games behind them by defeating Liverpool 1-0.
These results and the fact that Arsenal has relatively easier games for the rest of the season has now given new optimism to supporters, the pundits too are having to re-visit their conclusion that this was now a two-horse race. Things are getting exciting!
