Word from the grapevine is that the Cleveland Cavs are picking up Amare Stoudamire from the Suns in exchange for JJ Hickson and Z Illgausgas. That gives the Cavs a starting 5 o drum roll please....
They have 3 dominant players at their position and have bench players still of Daniel Gibson, Delonte West, and Verajou.
I dont see Lebron leaving a stacked Cleveland team with more money to offer for a team with less talent like the Knicks or Nets for less money. Just doesn't make sense. And I'm a Knicks fan!!!
Knicks need to think about alternatives to Lebron. The likelyness of seeing him in a Knicks jersey is as much as seeing Mike Tyson be WBF, IBA champ again. Time for plan B.
For me plan B would be to get Tracy Mcgrady for Al Harrington. Not so much for TMac, but because Al comes off the bench, and you may as well play Jordan Hill and let him get some experience.
Second Mcgrady was a scoring champ twice, and I'm just curious to see what it would look like to have a scoring threat at the SG. He could start off slow and back up Chandler until he was comfortable to take over.
Lastly, if the Cavs trade Illgausgas to Phoenix, and the Suns cut him for salary relief, could the Knicks resign him for the rest of the season and have a legitimate center. Thats only if he were interested in playing a quick contract.
Before you laugh, think of the possibility.
Duhon , McGrady, Gallonari, Lee, Illgausgas backed up by Nate, Chandler, Jeffries, and Jordan Hill.
Still a 9 man rotation. But if Mcgrady can return to form (he led the NBA in scoring before), and Illgausgas plays 20 min a night, maybe the team can block a shot, and has 2 more guys that can post as well as play the edge. D'antoni is always talking about a scoring center that can shoot.
If your gonna put a decripit team on the floor, this is the one I want to see. Forgot to mention. Gilbert Arenas will be a cheap free agent next season, and better player than Duhon ever was.
