In response to:
Miles suggested for Michigan job
If Lloyd Carr retires, (Lafayette, LA) Daily Advertiser writer Glenn Guilbeau says Louisiana State coach Les Miles should look at Michigan. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that there were no direct questions made to Miles about his possible interest, though Miles did appear uncomfortable at times when talking about Appalachian State's upset of the Wolverines.
If?!!!!!!! Lloyd Carr should get while the gettings good. If we have learned anything from Carr's tenure at Michigan it's that his mistakes are only going to increase in number, frequency, duration, and severity. I'm sure he's gotten death threats (who hasn't), but he's lucky he hasn't been run out of town already. Does this situation remind anybody of the loss to Oregon early in the season in 2003? A loss mostly attributable to poor preparation? A close call loss with mistakes on special teams? Come on people...when are we gonna wise up here? (and by people I mean the President and athletic director at UM) Let this guy go already so he can go destroy some other school's history. I think we can agree that this loss was mostly Lloyd's fault. He said it himeself in his postgame press conference that he takes full responsibility for this loss (what does the second L in Lloyd stand for?). In that case I think we can then agree that Coach has single-handedly destroyed Michigan's football legacy. There's no coming back from this. It was not only the worst upset in school history, it was the worst upset in college football history! This team is a national joke now. Now, Carr is obviously an idiot...we've seen that over and over for the past 30 years. (Wait, how long has been coach? Does it just seem like 30 years?) He's probably not going to do the smart thing and leave when he should, so in the event that he doesn't actually retire and leave peacefully we'll have to come up with some contingency plan to get him the hell out. Anyway, if and when Carr is finally booted out, I think Les Miles would be a nice fit. He's done some great things down at LSU, and he's really an old UM guy at heart. In interviews this past week he's talked about how many people from Michigan (not necessarily scholl staff) have contacted him about the upset and how much of a tightknit group UM folks are. It'll probably never happen, but here's hoping. The 1972 Miami Dolphins lost one game, it was an exhibition game vs. Chuck Norris and three seven year old girls. Chuck Norris won by 79 points.

hey man its a good blog but i dont think les miles is a good coach. he is way overrated. before he got the job at LSU he was coaching at Oklahoma state and he jumped ship when he new that he was going to have a down year. and the next year the pokes went 4-9 i think. I think alot of that was the fact that he is not a very good recruiter. The players he is winning with right now are Nick Sabans guys not his. But if u think he is good then i guess i could be wrong that is just my opinion
