This is rich(t).  Today, it looked like Tech was the #11, hanging 69 on a South Alabama homeschool team, and Georgia looked like the unranked team.  No touchdowns? Excuse me? #2 QB in the country coming out of high school, in his second season, second game, second time starting against SC, and no touchdowns? What is wrong with this picture? I think it is a predictable, plain vanilla offense.  DO NOT blame those freshman linemen.  You got a back rushing for over 100 yards, and over 200 yards in the air with no turnovers, then you d@#n sure better get a touchdown.  And you only give up 16, you are supposed to win the game. Mark Richt's offense cannot score in the red zone.  Mike Bobo's offense cannot score in the red zone.  Georgia cannot score in the red zone.  Experts have deconstructed the Richtian offense, and found it wanting.  Yet, by throwing up about a .800 winning percentage,  all is well in Bulldawg Nation? Don't think so.  Y'all cool with losing 4 conference games last year? I ain't.   And it sure looks like Tech is for real.  Y'all remember what got Jim Donnan fired? Let me elaborate:  Dr. Evil brought a bunch of high mucketies up to the lux box for the Tech game.  We lost.  Dr. Evil canned Jim Donnan.  Richt beat Tech every year, the paycheck keeps a comin'.  But In My not so Humble Opinion, if you can't score a Tiddie in a conference game, again' an unranked opponent,  you ain't worth no $2 meg a year.

Lemme put it this way.  I have been quietly fuming about our second tier coach for several years.  He was not the first choice.  We did not go out and get Nick Saban or Steve Spurrier. We got a young fellow with no head coaching experience.  But I figgered, hey, give him a shot.  They must know something we don't.   Well, I reckon not. It don't matter how much Mark Richt loves Jesus, his wife, and his kids.  That ain't winning conference games.  And let him drop about 4 this year, and then lose to Tech, and I am overhauling my private web page. It is going to be firemarkricht.com.  Yes it is.  Stewart "Irish Stew" Mandell , my most favorite hack, could not spin Richt out of this one.  This ain't good.  This does not bode well.  The Mark Richt love affair is officially over.  He is going to have to beat Florida and Tech to get out of this one.  And I don't see that happening.  Ball Coach was over there laughing up his sleeve the whole time.

How about you wait until the end of the season to roast Richt on a skewer? There's still a lot of football to be played.

The USC D looked very good while our O looked pretty bad (espcially the receivers and QB passes). Be grateful that our coach can recruit players like Stafford and Moreno.

I am mad that we lost too, but the USC/UGA game is always played like that. UGA just seems to come out on top. I even lost a TD to a techie b/c of UGA's loss, so I know all about tech. That games isn't for a while now. The UGA team will get much better as the season progresses, and since the team is so young, they'll be even better in 2008.

How 'bout 'em (see above) and I are cofounders of the University of Georgia Football Fan's page. He is a voice of reason, I am a voice crying out in the wilderness. I appreciate his balance.

This is why I love UGA football! I was very mad at the loss, but I realized one thing in hindsight......our offense was way better even with the miscues. I know, I know, we didn't put it in the end zone and thats what counts. But I would like to point out even with most of his balls over/under thrown or dropped, Stafford still threw for 213 yards. Moreno ran for 108 yards on the same amount of carries as Boyd for USC. Let two recievers catch balls or two of Staffords passes settle in right, and we are talking about a lopsided victory here. The defense had missed assigments. Period. But they still held USC enough. If our offense had meshed, it would have been a great defensive game for us. Losing skews things. I do question Bobo's calls a little, but he did give them the best plays to win with.

Heh, the dawgs did beat Florida and Tech. I hat to say I told you so, but I was right about the dawgs getting better at the end of the season.

GO DAWGS!
