week 2:
soo... i guess my rankings got a lot less controversial this week. lsu blew me away with their dominating performance against vt. i think lee corso said it best when he said, "if lsu isnt the #1 team in college football, then whoever is should be in the NFL." florida is also looking very solid even though they havent faced an SEC opponent yet. i really cant develop a good opinion of either florida or tennessee until they play an SEC game. i thought that auburn was bad, but i had no clue they were THAT bad. say what you want about usf and ksu, but the bottom line is, they were both great teams for such weak programs. there is absolutely NO excuse one of the top programs in the SEC to lose to a "middle of the road" big east team. like tennessee and florida, i wont really be able to judge arkansas until after they play bama this weekend. South Carolina, like i thought preseason, was a sleeping giant. they flew under the radar, and beat uga at home, which is not an easy task. bama looked good against vanderbilt, while terry grant picked up 175 yards on the ground.
week 3 SEC predictions:
alabama 27 arkansas 17 - it will be offense vs. offense in this game but alabama's offense is better. terry grant has averaged 150 ypg over 2 games, along with arguably the best WR corps in the country, along with home field advantage, and i think youll finally see alabama break into the top 25 with a win on national tv.
auburn 20 mississippi state 6 - auburn will redeem themselves against mississippi state. the offense will still struggle but will still manage to get 2 touchdowns and 2 field goals. the defense will easily keep mississippi state out of the end zone. if the bulldogs win, tuberville should be on the hot seat along with lloyd carr.
florida 21 tennessee 10 - this pick was all based on home field advantage for me. with tennessee struggling, it will be hard for them to get up for the florida game, and the swamp will be goin crazy. look for tebow to have another big game with 3 td passes. this one could get out of hand.
vanderbilt 21 ole miss 6 - look for vanderbilt to redeem themselves at home, just like auburn. they had a tough week 2, but theyll bounce back against possibly the worst team in the SEC. look for earl bennett to have over 100 receiving yards and maybe a couple of TDs. ed orgeron is lookin to get fired after this season.

Totally agree with your rankings.....
LSU is awsome... if they keep playing like they did against Virginia Tech, nobody will beat them.
Florida is shaping up to be very good team as well. Clearly, LSU is better however and I agree with you on the LSU vs Floriday SEC championship... it should involve both teams and LSU will win that one.
Alabama gets it's first real test Saturday. IF the offense plays to it's potential, this one might not even be close.
Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia were all thought to be contenders this season... none look like it now.
