What a great start. I couldn't have asked for much more. Where do we start? Mario had two sacks and a fumble recovery for at TD! Sorry far he has more TD's than Reggie Bush, and is tied with Vince. I feel great for him. More importantly, the D-line was awesome. In fact, when the Cheifs got the ball with one last gasp... after the Texans sucked the life out of them with a 10+ minute drive.. the D-line absolutely swarmed them. Travis Johnson had a beautiful pick after dropping into coverage. This is the kind of paly the Texans needed from them. Good work.
Schaub looked great. I loved the 77 yard connection to Andre. It was beautful. The great part about it was the fact that the running game made it possible. The Texans lined up on the play with two backs and two TE's, yes, only one receiver. Schaub made a beautiful play fake and hit Johnson in stride, blazing past the safety. The interception was a disappointing throw, but it is easy to forget about now.
And how about the O-line on a 10+ minute drive stuffing the ball down the Cheifs throat. That is how winning teams play football. As a fan, it felt like I was watching another team. Then CBS announced that we had just completed the longest drive, in terms of time, in the history of the Texans. Go line. Go Kubiak.
Waiting seven days until more is going to be agony. What a great day.
For those of you who think I am overreacting, you try being a Texans fan.
