The Bills were hit with a rash of injuries during the season opener, none as frightening and severe as that of backup tight end Kevin Everett. The Bills young reserve suffered a severe spinal injury after a head-to-head hit on the kickoff coverage team in the third quarter.
Everett was knocked out when he hit Broncos return man Domenit Hixon on the opening kick of the second half .
The game was stopped for several minutes while doctors attended to Everett who eventually open his eyes, but had little or no movement. He was taken to a hospital in Buffalo where he underwent hours of sugery . There is concern about whether Kevin Everett will be able to walk again.
His agent, Brian Overstreet , was quoted late Sunday as saying Everett had " sparse movement .
PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS YOUNG ATHELE ! "
