The outcome of the Bears/Bolts game didn't surprise me. Even when the Bears defense was holding them scoreless for the majority of the game, I knew it was only a matter of time before the Chargers broke through. It was up to the Bears offense to pull this game out. Once again, they were not up to the challenge. The running game was the biggest culprit in this "ugly" loss. It was non-existent. The offensive line couldn't open a crack of daylight for Benson and company. For some inexplicable reason, CB and AP couldn't hold onto the ball on the most routine running play. Fundamentally speaking, SECURE THE BALL WITH 2 HANDS!!! I'm not sure how many opportunities they had to score, but they could've easily scored 20 points with the field position the offense was receiving from the defense. Everytime the Bears were between the 40s all I could think of was here comes another turnover. Sure enough, low and behold, the ball was on the turf and I had to rub my eyes and say this wasn't happening again.
Where did the idea of opening up the offense a little? The media, coaches, analysts everywhere (John Clayton) were saying the Bears would put up some points this year. Grant them, it was against a top-3 defense in San Diego, but where was the shotgun they're were planning to implement? How about the Hester effect? I had to be reminded that he was in the backfield for only one play. One play? You've got to be joking? I understand Olsen is a big part of their offense, but that's rediculous! Hopefully the offense will expand a little with Olsen's return but this is not a good sign for the Bears. An aging line, unreliable RBs, and an inconsistant QB. Not a good combination for a return trip to the SB.
On a lighter note, it's only one game, and the toughest they'll have all season long. The Bears will re-group and hopefully handle the lowly Chiefs at home. If we don't score at least 25 points it will be a disappointing effort. It's obvious the NFC north is much improved. Detroit, Minny, and the Cheese won't be push-overs this year.

Honestly do you think before you speak chrono or are you mentaly handicap because that could be the dumbest thing I've heard a person say on this entire sight. He did fine last game and showed good poise, knowing that his recievers for some reason couldn't get out of 4 man coverage abd that the only person he was able to throw to was Benson and Clark if he even hoped to get a reception. Most of his passes were dead on but his targets decided for one reason or another that it wasn't a good time to catch the ball and maybe if he tried again latter they might be in the mood. Did you see the int. in the endzone. The defender came from the right of Berrian ran past him and intercepted the ball to the left of Berrian meaning Berrian had plenty of time to get there himself but just felt like jogging in place seemed like the best coarse of action. All together Grossman did alright, Benson and Peterson both broke 5 or 6 players every run but still only picked up three or so yards leaving one to wonder where in the hell is the famed Bears O line thats so insanly marvalous that opposing D's are blinded by their radiating light. They'll improve and take their division and secure by but wont get homefield 'cus that'll go to d' Cowboys.

The other thing I think that Play brought up that no one else did was the HES EFFECT. It was nonexistent. Why? 'Cus they wanted it to be is the only reason I can think of. If they want Hes to improve he needs to get out there and experience the game at the pro level. he has the physical prowess of a GOD and has intelligence to go with it. He needs to be in the game at least 20 snaps, not catching 20 balls, we don't want him to become mence meat, but at least in blocking or just running routs on playaction. The problem went a little deeper then just not putting Hester in and I'm not going to bother typing it all up in multiple comments but I'm just goin to type up a blog of my own so if your intrested look it up.

Hester should've at least touched the ball a couple of times. Why not throw him a crossing pattern or a quick in? If he can't take a hit why make the change to begin with?

At the same time, they want Hester to progress, not jump in, get hit hard by a smothering defense, and never be the same receiver. If they'd been up, I think he would have gotten a few throws, but frankly, why risk him and his career against such a defense?
It's like the Browns keeping Quinn on the bench until their season gets a little easier, and he'll have a chance to be successful. Get Hester in there against a secondary he'll have some success against, and that kind of confidence will pay off big in the long run. Shoot his confidence early, and suddenly our X factor disappears. I don't think the offense managed the play well, but I agree with relying on the run and proven receivers against the SD defense.
