I don't know what the next letter is for the name of the hurricane coming in September of 2010 but the NFL is looking for one called "Felix". Opposing fans are kidding themselves if they aren't concerned or they are just in denial.......
There is no question that Felix Jones, the Cowboys first round pick in 08 was drafted because of an outstanding college career at Arkansas. However the book on him was that he may not be a full time back in the NFL. After only a few carries in Dallas, it was starting to look that way. In game five, Felix suffered an injury causing him to miss several games and worse yet managed to hurt something else "toe" again during rehabbing the original injury. Felix sat out the final 11 games of his rookie year. Felix Jones got injured slightly in his second season causing fans to call him "Glass Jones". However Felix Jones surprised fans by coming back earlier then expected showing toughness not seen before. What transpired in 09 was the start of something very special in Dallas. Jones carried the ball 146 times including playoffs this past year. He ran hard in his playoff games running for 217 yards on just 30 carries. Now that Felix Jones has shown he can handle 10-15 carries a game, theres hope he can carry the rock 250 times a year. His numbers in his career are frightening......
Arkansas Razorbacks 06 154 carries 1,168 yards 7.6 avg. 6 TDs
07 133 carries 1,162 yards 8.7 avg. 11 TDs
College career 386 carries 2,956 yards 7.7 avg. 20 TDs
Dallas Cowboys 08 30 carries 266 yards 8.9 avg. 3 TDs
09 116 carries 685 yards 5.9 avg. 6 TDs
09 Playoffs 30 carries 217 yards 7.2 avg. 1 TDs

What has Cowboy fans absolutely giddy about him is his unusual average per carry which has followed him through two years in the pros. His strong showings in two playoff games showed his body can take a beating. His pro career looks to be on the way to Dallas fans seeing another great back in their teams illustrious history following the footsteps of alltime top ten backs Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith.
Felix Jones Pro Career (Playoffs)
176 carries 1,168 yards 6.6 avg. 7 TDs
As far as haters are concerned that average is much too close for comfort to his college average making him if healthy another superstar rb in Dallas. Felix is a #1 pick and he will get to start in Dallas so NFL fans better brace themselves. One more thing fans, Felix played part of the season with the injury so the 5.9 average might've been better. Earlier he had looked like he lost a step but got it back in December and January. Watch out fans, rejoice or cry because with Felix Jones theres no in between.
