I will agree with anyone who says that cheating is wrong. However, the charge against the Patriots and the response it has gotten has almost been hysterical. Just for the record, again, I do not condone cheating in any way shape or form, but if the Jets are using this as an excuse as to why they got walked on yesterday, get over it. These guys are all professional athletes and get paid top dollar for what they do. Coaches have made it simple for them by putting on paper what they are supposed to do and when to do it, then matching it with arm and hand signals. Regardless of what the Patriots had on the sideline, from an ongoing recording, if the Jets executed their assignments, then they would have at least made a game of it.
This actually reminds me of a college discussion Lou Holtz was involved in during the '05 college football season. After Brohm threw a 69 yard touchdown pass to go up by 43 against Oregon State he was asked if Louisville should maybe quit throwing bombs and running up the score to which he replied, "Absolutely not, it isn't Louisville's job to stop scoring it's Oregon State job to stop them, if they don't like then they need to recruit better and play harder."
I know it is not exactly the same thing, but again these guys are all professionals.
I guess I should also go on record and say that I hate New England and Belichick.
One final thought or jab, whatever you want to call it, so NE loses their first round pick lets say, I am sure another AFC will donate theirs. Running game struggling a couple of years ago, cincy gives them dillon......passing game not what it should be, oakland gives them moss. Sorry if this seems like a rant, I just think this is getting blown out of proportion.
