Tashard Choice, RB, GT
For 2007, check out his stats compared to the other top backs (Steve Slaton, Darren McFadden, etc.).
Tashard Choice - 306 yrds rushing, 39 yrds receiving, 4 TDs. Two games played.
Steve Slaton - 255 yrds rushing, 63 yrds receiving, 5 TDs. Two games played.
Darren McFadden - 151 yrds rushing, 30 yrds recieving, 1 TD. One game played.
He has more yards per game than of these other two "better" (more hyped) backs. The biggest difference is when you look at the yards per 4 quarters.
Tashard Choice - 306 yards rushing, 39 yards receiving, 4 TDs. Four quarters played.
Steve Slaton - 145.7 yards rushing, 22.3 yards recieving, 2.8 TDs. Seven quarters played.
Darren McFadden - 151 yards rushing, 30 yards receiving, 1 TD. Four quarters played.
Also, Choice is more consistent than either of those two. Observe:
Choice - 9 straight 100 yard rushing games (Miami, NCSU, UNC, DU, UGA, WF, WVU, ND, SU)
Slaton - 2 straight 100 yard rushing games (WMU, MU) [He was hurt in the Gator Bowl last year, preventing him from accumulating 2 more on RU and GT)
McFadden - 1 100 yard rushing game (Troy)
So, in conclusion, this is basically an addendum to my previous blog post about the media bias against the Yello Jackets. Once again the team without the high-powered, newfangled spread offense, or the national fan base is getting the shaft. Only this time, the player with the best numbers is never mentioned for any of the awards.
