The Thing (Blog) That Should Not Be.

As we all know, the New England Patriots and their HC Bill Belichick are under some intense pressure. Bill has met with Goodell, and some news has been leaked on the possible punishments to the Patriot Organization. Belichick will be fined $500K, and the Patriots will be fined $250K. And they have various ways of losing draft picks. If they make the playoffs this upcoming season, they lose a 1st Round Pick for 2008. If they dont make the playoffs, they lose a 2nd and 3rd Round Pick.

Overall, that ain't to bad. As pointed out by Steelercooz in his blog, it really is a slap on the wrist. "DIE HARD STEEL-Steelercooz"

The fact is, the Patriots got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. And, they didnt get much of a punishment for it. The fines are not that bad. Bill takes a big chunk, but the Pats losing $250K is chump change. The draft pick part is really all that hurts. And I dont think the Pats could really be limping in the next few seasons with a lost 1st Round Pick. They STILL have Brady. lol Goodell has been stiff for all the previous incidents during his tenure. He brought the hammer down on Pacman Jones. He handled Tank Johnson pretty well, until Tank blew it later. He handled Vick by suspending him for Training Camp, and then suspending him indefinately after he plead guilty. Goodell has done a great job so far in his time as Commisioner. He's made swift judgements, and really has been an enforcer. Now, what does the decision on the Patriots say about him?

It was said in the comments of Cooz's blog that it was kind of ridiculous how Goodel went from being so stern to letting somebody off the hook. Honestly, I agree. But, I'll give Goodell a break on this one. He's done SUCH a great job in just over a year as Commish that one slip up in judgement doesn't kill his image.

Another angle on this has been pointed out by myself and numerous FanNation users. How long has Belichick and Patriots been doing this? Were they putting camera guys in the stands during the 2004 AFC Wild Card Game when the Pats rolled over the Colts, 20-3? Did they have anybody taping anything in 2003 when the Pats were in that incredible Super Bowl vs Carolina? Were the Pats doing this in the 2005 Super Bowl? And the examples could go on forever. It's just mind boggling how many teams and games could have been affected by this. And to go even beyond the Patriots, have there been other teams doing this? Ok, I'm gonna stop right.....HERE. As you can imagine, it would be ludicrous to try and bust out a bunch of conspiracy theories. Then, there would be Niners fans yelling at Packer fans, and Eagles fans yelling at Skins fans. Well, that already is happening.

And at about this point in the blog you might be wondering what this blog is even about. You might be wondering what the title meant. Well, let me put it to you this way. It's more like a stress ball fused into this blog. To all of the Rams, Eagles, Panthers, Jets, and really any other NFL fans that are PISSED OFF about the Patriots, I'm gonna try and round off your night with a laugh. Im not an extremely funny person, ask the guys from "Chat Room" group and they'll tell yah. They'll tell yah that all I'm good for when it comes to humor is the random and sometimes crude sarcastic remark. That's about it. So, since I'm not a comical genius, I'll try and lighten your day with a few real comical geniuses. Oh, and I'll also mix in one video that will more than likely make all the more distuingished (Older) people feel good.

1) "Iraq Me Dave Petraeus"

3) "The Greatest Actor Ever"
