Best of Pride Volume 2- Middleweights
by Michael Rich
I'm back with the second round of my rankings from Pride. As most of you know, the Middleweight division in Pride was the same as the Light Heavyweight division that we know and love today. This was a little harder to rank seeing that the talent pool in this class was better and deeper than that of the Heavyweights. I'll be back next week with the Welterweights.
Honorable Mentions- Dan Henderson, Murilo Rua, NAnt??nio Rog??rio Nogueira
5. Ricardo "Brazilian Tiger" Arona
Record in Pride- 8-4-0-0
Notable wins- Guy Mezger, Dan Henderson, Murilo Rua, Wanderlei Silva, Kazushi Sakuraba, Alistair Overeem
Ricardo didn't fight in as many bouts as the other members of this list, but he did fight top competition, and beat both of the Pride Middleweight champions. He made it to the finals of the 2005 Pride Middleweight Grand Prix, and received a title shot during his tenure with Pride. The quality of the fighters that Arona lost to, and the fighters he beat earned him a spot on this list.
