Well, after an exciting week 3, here are the bottom 10 teams in the college football universe. As usual, last week's rankings are in parenthases.
Off the Board:
Michigan (112): Soundly defeated Notre Dame 38-0. We'll see if they've truely turned it around next week against #12 Penn State.
Eastern Michigan (117): Defeated Northern Illiniois 21-19. We'll hear more about this game in a second.
110: Duke (118): They won!! They won!! No, seriously, Duke won!! They ended the nation's-longest 22 game losing streak with a 20-14 victory over Northwestern, despite giving up 506 total yards and only managing 68 yards rushing.
111: Temple (115): Lost a close one to undefeated UConn 22-17. Led 17-16 with one quarter to go. A pretty even matchup as far as team stats go.
112: Northern Illinois (NR): Lost to former Bottom 10 inhabitant Eastern Michigan 21-19. Has also lost to Southern Illinois and Iowa. Lost the TOP battle by 7 minutes.
113: Rice (110): Lost to Texas Tech 59-24. Gave up 481 yards passing and 592 total yards. Drew as close 21-17 before giving up 35 unanswered points.
114: North Texas (116): Idle.
115: Syracuse (113): Lost to Illinois 41-20. Gave up 508 total yards and 378 rushing yards, whle only managing 68 rushing yards themselves. Illinois had 3 players with over 90 yards rushing.
116: UL - Lafayette (NR): Lost to McNeese State 38-17. No, really, McNeese State. Tied the game at 17 with a miute left in the second quarter before giving up 21 unanswered points in the second half. They've also lost to South Carolina and Ohio.
117: Utah State (114): Lost to #3 Oklahoma 54-3. Gave up 617 yards of total offense, 343 rushing. Only managed 153 total yards. Gave up 33 unanswered points to close the game. Actually won the TOP battle by 2 minutes.
118: Notre Dame (111): Didn't think I'd get through this list without having ND on here, did you? Lost to Michigan 38-0. 79 total yards, including -6 yards rushing. That's right, -6 yards rushing, bringing their season total to a whopping -14 yards rushing. Have yet to score an offensive touchdown. Started 0-3 for the second time in school history.
119: Florida International (119): Couldn't bring myself to put ND behind FIU. Lost to Miami (Fla.) 23-9. Have the longest losing streak in Football Bowl Subdivision at 15 games. Only managed 105 yards passing.
