I love writing in lists about football. I have too many thoughts to write in complete paragraphs about this sort of thing. To those looking for transitions and other normal feats of grammar, my apologies.
- The Steelers wore the ugliest uniforms I have seen in a long time on Sunday against the Bills. Yellow helmets, black jerseys with yellow letters and numbers, and white pants, seriously? They were throw-outs, not throwbacks.
- The Steelers are a great organization. They seem to never make a bad choice when it comes to talent or coaching. Yes, they have bad seasons, but they always reload quickly.
- Norte Dame is an absolute mess. I want to run a team like the University at Buffalo out there against the Irish and see how things go. I think UB has a shot, that team put up 24 points on a great Penn State defense on Saturday. ND is rebuilding, but that term does not exist in any dictionary in South Bend - check it out.
- How many NFL teams could USC beat? I don't know the exact number, but I would love to see if that team could -- they look unstoppable.
- Cleveland and Cincinnati played a great Arena Football game today.
- ESPN's College Gameday is the best pre-game show in sports. No cast has more fun or better chemistry. It is one of the only good reasons to get up early on a Saturday.
- The Packers might be this year's sleeper team. They are 2-0 and doing it with a defense that is quietly becoming one of the league's best.
- Trading Matt Schaub might end up being on the "Portland Passing on MJ" list of poor personnel choices. Also, Atlanta may have passed the Browns as the NFL team with the worst luck.
- NEVER COUNT OUT THE DENVER BRONCOS.
- The Patriots are being punished in the right way. They deserve to lose picks. Sadly for the rest of the NFL, they are still an elite team -- even without their assistants carrying handicams.
