I want to point out a really blatant hypocrisy bubbling about in the sports world right now. Bill Belichick has just been caught red-handed cheating in a game. No dispute, no question, no gray area. Cheating, cheating, cheating. So where's the outrage? Where are the angry peasants, shaking their shovels and pitchforks? Where are the calls to take away his rings, erase his victories, ban him from the Hall? Bonds, on the other hand, has never been proven to have done anything wrong. But to be fair, he probably took steroids. I believe it. Let's not be naive. But on accusation alone, he's the most demonized figure in sports. The reason for the difference in treatment? I know, the MLB and NFL aren't the same thing. There's no governing body making sure these two get treated equally. But fans are different...we're judge and jury, and I want to know why there's such a difference in the reaction to Bonds and Belichick. Because "everyone does" what Bilichick did? Everyone took steroids, too. Because he was forthcoming and honest? No, he wasn't...he got caught red-handed, and has dodged questions ever since. Because it was a "one-time" thing? No, he's been accused of this for years, and finally got busted. And it's not because he's a nice guy who's always been a media darling...he isn't, and he hasn't. Here's the reason no one likes to hear, but I think it's the case: skin color. I think there's a subtle racism that makes it easier to be mad at a black man than a white man. I happen to be a white man myself, so I'm not crying out for pity. But I'd like someone to explain--preferably, one of you torch-waving Bonds haters--why you're not out there forming the Ban Belichick from the Hall and Take Away His Rings Club. Be honest with yourselves, and honest with the rest of us. The floor is yours...

Cheers, JAubin.

C'mon, Bonds Bashers...anyone got an argument?

Not a genius, just a cheater. No wonder he looks so smart.

If he was so brilliant, he didn't need to cheat. So if he cheated, he wasn't so brilliant.

He is still a great coach. But people will now think of this when he is talked about.

Hey, Coletrain. Good game last night, huh?

I watched with a Sox fan who kept muttering during Jeter's AB..."walk Jeter, pitch to Abreau...walk Jeter, pitch to Abreau...".
