Why Kentucky beats Arkansas Saturday:

Though the line opened with Arkansas favored by 7 1/2, it immediately dropped to 6 1/2, and Sagarin only has them by about 1 1/2.

UA's in disarray, and Nutt has now suspended starting defensive tackle Mitchell for the game, compounding Arkansas' weakness in the secondary--less pressure on Andre Woodson.

Like Louisville, UA lacks balance--in this case, all run, no pass.

UK relishes being Heismann hope killers, since Woodson gets so little respect.  First, Brian Brohm.  Next, Darren McFadden.  To be continued. . . .

UK is 8-1 in their last 9 games.

The last time UK scored over 40 points in 3 straight games was during Bear Bryant's 1950 11-1 Sugar Bowl/National Championship season.

UK is still disrespected and hungrier.

From the Defender of the (Wildcat) Faith in the River City, make it UK 30, UA 14

You are crazy. The D End was only starting because the other one was suspended. Now he is back. UK cannot stop Arkansas. They haven't played anyone yet. Louisville almost got beat by MTSU, they were well overranked. As far as our secondary, we just moved the fastest guy on the team back to db, where he belongs, from safety. It won't even be close. Arkansas will blast UK. We pass enough. If you had D-Mac, you would run too. Just watch and see.

Louisville was overranked, but apparently so were the Razorbacks, losing like they did to unranked Alabama. Louisville's offense is still one of the best in the country, and UK gave up 4 touchdowns (the other was a kick return); only one in the second half. Arkansas will be doing good if their offense gets 2 td's Saturday. Louisville didn't think it would be close, either. Guess we'll find out Sat. Btw, UK's got a pretty good running back too, you might have heard of him, Rafael Little. If you haven't heard of him, go away 'cuz you don't know what you're talking about.

First of all, I think it's a mistake to underestimate the Alabama program. Unranked, of course they were. They've also been playing like they should have been a Top 25 team all along. Arkansas should have won that game, but I don't take anything away from it but the frustration that has come with the turmoil that the Hogs have faced at the QB position. I can personally say that I haven't heard of this Rafael Little. I see the stats on him, so you can spare me the excited chest thumping you'd feel obligated to exercise about the guy. I don't doubt the guy can run. Even so, I wouldn't play that card opposite McFadden and Jones. And not hearing about the guy? It's irrelevant to knowing or not knowing what I'm talking about. So, seriously, be done with the trash talking.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to dis Alabama, just making a point--Kentucky beats Louisville, so Louisville must have been overrated (again, I agree that they were--and still are), but the same doesn't hold true for Arkansas' losing to a (then) unranked opponent? UK's not been playing like a top 25 team? 8-1 in their last nine games with victories over UGA, Clemson, and UL? This early in the season the rankings are just starting to shake out, and shed teams like UL living off last year's glory. I've seen McFadden play; I have every confidence that he will shortly be the NFL's next great running back, and Jones may very well be the league's 2nd best rb, but that doesn't mean UK can't beat a fairly one-dimensional team. I'm not thumping anything and I wasn't the one predicting anyone blasting anyone so where's my trash talk? This is the about the brashest I'll get: UK will win, and everyone in Arky will know who Little is Saturday night.

Well, guess I was being generous giving the Arkansas offense 2 touchdowns, since they only scored 1. Their other scores were 2 field goals, along with a fumble recovery score, a safety, and UK gives up another kick return touchdown, this one where they thought the refs were going to call one of UA's many blocks in the back only to have it turned around to a (declined) penalty on them. Yeah, McFadden & Jones ran all over the place the first half, but someone needs to figure a way for them to pace themselves, or only play one each half or something, since McFadden only had 40 in the second half, along with Jones' 20. . . .

LOL! Jones and Mcfadden both had the stomach Flu and were unable to keep liquids down. You must not have actually watched the game or you would have known it. If it hadn't been for stupid coaching ala going for it on 4-11 instead of punting the game would have been winnable. Seeing as Louisville lost to Syracuse they were way over rated. so there goes that one. hat. Woodson didn't impress me all that much. he threw a couple deep balls but the Recievers are the ones that made the nice catches. Aside from his streak of passes without an INT he isn't that big of a QB in my eyes.

Did they also have the flu against Alabama? And when Nutt went for it on 4th down in his own territory, what he really needed was a qb who could pass the ball (think Woodson might have been able to help???) He knew he didn't really have any choice, as did the rest of his team--UK was moving the ball at will at that point, was fresher, and was 'out-physicalling' UA. What game were you watching? And McFadden & Woodson (now 3rd in some Heisman polls) are both projected to be first rounders, so it's probably good that you aren't an NFL scout or anything.

Don't make the same mistake Louisville and their fans made--just admit you got beat by a better team and try to learn from it, like trying to get better in the trenches, or you may be in for a long season.
