Once again, it's time for my exercise in ridiculous futility. Based on the NFL tiebreakers, this is what the playoffs would look like if they were seeded today.

NFC
Home-field Advantage -- #1 Detroit Lions (up from 6th)
(last week: Vikings)
Bye Week -- #2 San Francisco 49ers (up from OUT)
(last week: Panthers)
#3 Washington Redskins (up from 4th) hosting #6 Dallas Cowboys (up from OUT)
(last week Seahawks hosting Lions)
#4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (up from OUT) hosting #5 Green Bay Packers (SAME)
(last week: Redskins hosting Panthers)

AFC
Home-field Advantage -- #1 Pittsburgh Steelers (up from 2nd)
(last week: Colts)
Bye Week -- #2 New England Patriots (up from 3rd)
(last week: Steelers)
#3 Indianapolis Colts (down from 1st) hosting #6 Tennessee Titans (up from OUT)
(last week: Patriots hosting Bengals)
#4 Denver Broncos (up from OUT) hosting #5 Houston Texans (SAME)
(last week: Chargers hosting Texans)

Things to note:
1) All AFC South teams got in except the Jacksonville Jaguars
2) Tampa Bay is the only team that wins their division without a 2-0 record
3) Baltimore is out based on my interpretation of how to apply the tiebreakers when division teams have an uneven number of division games; however, I did not apply this tiebreaker in other divisions if a team did not have any division games.
4) I've probably screwed this up somewhere, but it's just for fun anyway.

Anytime you seed Steelers as the #1 in the AFC at this point it is the farthest from ridiculous futulity as you can possibly get. Good job. I like it.

Gets a thumbs up from me. Titans vs. Indy.... TITANS WIN. If anybody's going to upset the Colts, it will be Tennessee. I would sell my left arm to stop the Colts from repeating.

Thought I was the only nut who did this stuff! Ha. In any case, based on my number crunching, I have some slight differences from yours....

AFC
#1 Patriots
#2 Colts
#3 Steelers vs #6 Titans
#4 Broncos vs #5 Texans

Dropping out from last week: Bengals
New in this week: Colts

NFC
#1 Lions
#2 49ers
#3 Redskins vs #6 Packers
#4 Buccaneers vs #5 Cowboys

Dropping out this week: Vikings, Panthers, Seahawks
New in this week: Lions, Redskins, Buccaneers

As a Steelers fan, I prefer your rankings... ;-)
