I tend to cringe a little bit whenever I see, hear, or read a story about Baseball's ongoing investigation. Baseball never made me cringe before. Well, maybe that Chuck Knoblach thing, that was pretty weird.
Fashion designer Mark Echo is holding a online vote to "democratize to debate" over the final resting place of Barry Bonds 756th home run ball. Seems that the options are Cooperstown, outer space, or Cooperstown with an asterisk sharpied onto it.
This is the most sane and rational act anyone has taken in the whole 10 year running of MLB's on going soap opera, "The Young and the Enhanced". Bud Selig should take the same approach to the problem. Make light of it. Instead of bumbling and sweating when asked about the readiness of the new HGH test. He should tell people the league is too busy looking into allegations that the Patriots have been stealing the Red Sox signs to worry about it.
The League's investigation is not being done with the league in mind. A scandal that supposedly hurt the integrity of baseball has not done near the damage that the investigation is already doing.
I realize there is congressional pressure; but there has to be a better way to make this thing go away than to explain it away. The next step for anyone involved in the investigation should be to go to Rome and get a little education on how this inquisition and purification thing usually ends up.
I'm not so sure about congress, but I think Baseball can make it right.
I chose the asterisk option by the way. "The Young and the Enhanced" should make it to the hall somehow.
Here's a coulple notes on upcoming football games.
Must see HD: Penn State at Michigan. See the veins in Lloyd Carr's forehead throb in high def. He says nothing can get him down. I wanna be on what he's on.
Religious thought for the day: Michigan State at Notre Dame. What would Touchdown Jesus do if the Irish can't score a touchdown in four games. Notre Dame's offense can improve and they still might get shut out. The Spartan defense looks good. Better than Michigan's anyway.
Three and out Charlie says they are getting back to basics. Does that mean we will see the wing-T offense, maybe wishbone?
I think it's about time I stop taking shots at Michigan for a while. Being a spartan fan I know I can't let my ammo run out before I get shot back. It's damn hard though.
I'm sure OSU fans will pick up the slack for me.
