1.  The year will end with USC, LSU and Oklahoma unbeaten.  Goodbye BCS, hello playoff !

2.  Central Florida has not received a single vote, yet they CRUSHED N.C. State on the road, outplayed Texas at home and barely lost, and swamped Memphis State.  They have one of the top 5 running backs in the country, and a defensive tackle (wrestler from Canada) that destroyed Texas' O Line.  Watch out for this team.

3.  Nebraska dropped only 1 spot after Ball State GAVE the Huskers the game by dropping a wide open post pattern for a touchdown in the game's last minute.  This Nebraska team is big time overrated.

4.  West Virginia has an easier schedule EVERY year than the other Top 10 teams.  They don't play a schedule that is worthy of knowing where they really should rank.

5.  California may have the best offense in the nation after USC.

6.  Oregon may argue point 5 above.

7.  The Pac 10 is every bit as good a conference this year as the SEC.  Deal with it.

the pac10 is not as good as the SEC, you pointed out that Nebraska gave up 40 points to Ball St, just as many as the great USC could score, I do think Cal and Oregon are good schools, probably better than USC, but come on, the SEC has LSU and Florida, Alabama lost 1 to a great Georgia team, and Kentucky is undefeated, I think the Louisville-Kentucky game is just like a pac10 vs SEC game, I know all are weary due to Tenn. lose to Cal, but that is one of the bottom teams of the SEC not the best. The BCS will have USC fans mad at the end of the season, because it calculates actual strength of schedule and it will jump both LSU and Oklahoma over USC if all go undefeated, but as I said I figure USC to lose to Cal and maybe even Oregon

Cal and Oregon are both loaded with offense, but neither play great D, which USC does. If you watched the Nebraska game, USC could have hung 60 on them if they wanted to, but played the 13th string in the last 10 minutes.
Don't get me wrong, the SEC is super tough, as always, but so is the Pac 10 this year, at least at the top. Georgia looked great to me, I agree with you there also. QB looked super, and their defense is super.

top to bottom SEC is better than Pac-10. Even saying that USC is better than LSU is a stretch. SEC more top 25 teams than the Pac-10. Top echelon pac-10 teams beat up on lower pac-10 teams. You know USC is gonna beat teams lower seeded teams. No SEC game is set in stone.

Besides the SEC, every conference is generally the same. You have two or three good teams and then a lot of mediocre and bad teams. So this whole crap about WVU having such an easy schedule every year is laughable. Is Oklahoma's schedule really that difficult? Wow, they beat a Miami team that really isn't that impressive. There toughest game remaining might be Texas, which isn't that good either. How good is the Pac-10 really? That win USC had over Nebraska on the road doesn't look that impressive now. I'm not going to argue that LSU and Florida don't have it tough, because that would be a lie. As for everybody else in the top 10 dont' give me this crap that they have it so much more tough than the Mountaineers. By the way? What is this crap about " not knowinghow good WVU really is. They looked pretty good in Sugar bowl against Georgia. Oh, I know! The SEC was down that year and Georgia took them for granted. You people are so full of crap.

West Virginia's schedule: Western Michigan.....yawn; Marshall....fall asleep; Maryland....decent team, not a strong team; East Carolina.......yawn; South Florida......much stronger than W. Virginia hoped for; Syracuse.......sorry team; Miss. State......decent; Rutgers......toughest game on schedule, which says it all; Louisville....overrated and proved it this weekend; Cincinnati.....whatever; Connecticut.........favored by 100 over them; Pittsburgh.....sorry team.
As I said, nobody will really have any clue how good W. Virginia is this year until their bowl game. They may be super, but you have to admit the above is one of the easiest schedules in the country.

Eastiest schedule compared to who? LSU? Of course. Florida? Of course. It's not any easier than Oklahoma, Oh St., Wisconsin or Texas. I'm not saying they play in the SEC or anything, but if you think the Big East at this point is the worse than the big 12 or the big ten, you're really not being truthful.

September 23, 2007  10:46 PM ET

Also, The Pac-10 is nowhere as good as the SEC. Like I said, there are generally 2-3 good teams in each conference. Pac 10 has USC, Cal, and Oregon. It stops right there. UCLA got hammered by Utah, Washington is still generally mediocre, Oregon State absolutely got mauled by the 4th best team in the Big East. So give me a break. There nowhere near as good as the SEC.

September 23, 2007  11:08 PM ET

The Top 3 are as good, and in my view better than the SEC. But top to bottom, I agree with you, it is the SEC. The Big East IS the same as the Big 12 or Big 10, I agree there also. There really is a lack of power programs this year in my view. Clearly USC and LSU are the best, but Oklahoma is steamrolling people as well. It could very well be West Virginia/Oklahoma to see who ends up 2nd in the country.

Well, as long as you made that clear. I think the top 3 in the Pac-10 are just as good as the top three in the SEC. It's just that the SEC has an unbelievable amount of depth. However, they're top teams are just as beatable as the top teams from other conferences. Also, I don't know how clear anything is at this point. Yes, LSU and USC appear to be in a class of their own, but there is long way to go at this point. I love WVU, but I could easily see them losing three games. I'm especially worried about this week at USF. It's so hard to tell anything at this point in the season. We just can't pencil in any two teams in the Nat'l championship right now.
