The Malaysian Grand Prix was the second consecutive F1 race to keep my interest from beginning to end. Partially because the rain that messed up qualifying made for a different looking starting grid with the points leaders in the back. Returning icon Michael Schumacher was once again a non factor with a mechanical issue taking him out early, while his teammate Nico Rosburg once again had a good finish. And finally Sebastien Vettel who has dominated every race this year finally came away with a win instead of having a mechanical problem cut him down. But the star of this race has to be Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who had his own difficulties with a machine that sounded like it was going to die on every turn. He was one of the fastest drivers on the track, but was stuck in 9th because of a transmission problem that caused problems on downshifting & especially when he was trying to pass last weeks winner Jenson Button. Finally after one last attempt that looked like it was finally going to succeed, his engine finally blew. On the last lap! He wasn't going to win the race & I'm not a big enough F1 fan that I care who did, but that was sad because he did a brilliant job with that car This may turn out to be the best season in years. I mean Mark Webber finished second. Nice to see different people on the podium.
