Not doing this in any type of order, just the order I think the value is in.
Round 5- Jets pick 155 Emanuel Sanders WR SMU
Write the name down, and remember it. He is the highest Jets value in the whole draft. He is what Eddie Royal is to the Broncos, and Jonny Knox to the Bears. This guy is the 3rd fastest guy in the WR pool at every event. I'm talking 40, shuttle, cone, almost the fastest 10 yard burst. In short he's a burner. He set the receiving record for SMU, and they said his hands were great. Why get Golden Tate or a hobbled Byrd? This guy is the next small school burner waiting to be turned into a beast of a slot receiver in the NFL. Jets should jump on him in round 5, even round 4 wouldn't be a stretch.
Round 2- Jets pick 61 Lamar Houston DT Texas
Houston is valued currently as a mid 2nd rounder maybe earlier. I think the Jets trade down from the first round pick 29 if Jared Odrick is not available. The Jets need a DE (maybe 2) to replace Marquice Douglas or Shawn Ellis. They are 33 and 34 I believe, and aren't getting younger. To replace them the Jets need a big DE, or (easier fix) a DT that is quick enough to play end in the 3-4. Lamar Houston is one of the quickest defensive tackles. He is relentless, he is strong, and he plays with passion. That's exactly what the team needs in a defensive end. I wouldn't be opposed to trading out of the more expensive 1st round and picking up another 2nd rounder and extra pick (4th or 3rd next year). To give you an idea of him as a Jets DE next season, heres what he did this season from an interior lineman spot. 58 tackles, 20 TFL, 28 pressures, seven sacks, four PBD and two fumble recoveries. All that from a 2nd round pick? Get this guy.
