I decided to go out and make my own fantasy player "Power Rankings" - simply because I'm excited about the season and I'm already off-line drafting presently in a league where I've compiled most of this list rip-shod like. This should be a bit of a work in progress because I'm going to make a write-up for reasoning. I'll start with the top 10.
The BIG Five. (These five all have the possibility to go number 1, and should be the only ones that do)
1. Kevin Garnett - It's possible he'll get the C tag sometime during the season as there are rumblings that he'll stand in for center at certain points for the Celtics. He was a top 3 Fantasy player last year, and adding the C tag makes him by far the most valuable player to draft.
2. Shawn Marion - There are rumblings that Marion's unhappy, but these have been persisting for the last couple of years. My bet is Marion stays in Phoenix, and he continues his brilliant play. My guess is that Marion again is the #1 fantasy contributor, but if Garnett gets the C tag that tips him over Marion.
3. Gilbert Arenas - Interesting how the experts disagree on where Arenas should be drafted within the top 10 picks, but I take him in the top 5 easily and above the other players below him. Arenas is really solid in two difficult categories - 3PM and Steals. His low FG% is made up for with his production in other areas.
4. Kobe Bryant - He simply had a HUGE fantasy year last year, only being surpassed in value by Marion. I foresee another similar year for Kobe this year - like Marion he helps in multiple categories, though his TO's are a factor. if he can improve on his 46% shooting and lower his TOs he could also be the number 1 fantasy player at the end of the year.
5. Lebron James - Like Kobe, he helps in most categories - but TO's and FT% hurts. LBJ has been working on his shooting in the off-season which should help raise his FT% and his FG%, and that's a scary thought.
The Rest
6. Steve Nash - Nash seems to fall around 6 in all expert lists as well, and he falls here for me as well. Makes your assists category, has a very strong FG% and FT% and adds in very healthy 3PM. Huge stats, and he's regular like a bull. Doesn't have off games. His TO's hurt, but are made up for in his other stats.
7. Dirk Nowiztki - Dirk Nowitzki is vanilla to me - he's a little bit of helpful in all categories, like a mini Marion but less productive. In strict roto leagues he's a very strong pick if he drops here. He simply helps in every category, even if it's a slight bit.
8. Amare Stoudemire - I have him a bit higher than I imagine most do, but hear me out: centers are weak this year. Amare and Yao are the elite, but Yao's an injury risk. Pau's the best of the next tier and he's a far less attractive center than Amare is. If you pick Amare you can rely on him all year and he won't disappoint.
9. Jason Kidd - In more ways attractive than Steve Nash - his one big detractor is his FG% - but he's so strong in Boards/Assists/Steals/3PM that his FG% is worth tacking on. Also, his FT% isn't superb. Still a very nice pick.
10. Yao Ming - If healthy, he's the best fantasy C in the league (unless garnett picks the C tag up as well). Crazy boards, points, FG%, FT% (as a center, that's big) and blocks is just awesome. But, I doubt he stays healthy. Still worth taking a chance on him about here in drafts.

Gilbert Arenas is way too high. He gets you points. That's it. Why don't you just draft Steve Nash third or fourth? He'll get you assists.
I think people are overrating Garnett this year. It should go 1. Kobe; 2. Marion; 3. LeBron; 4. Garnett; 5. Jason Kidd (the best fantasy PG there is--he still gets triple-doubles).
Nash is too high. Yao has trouble staying healthy.
