The past couple seasons have been tough times for teams that lost the superbowl.  We  all know what happened to the Eagles, Panther, Raiders and Seahawks.  Well it seems the bears are going through some turmoil of their own.  Unlike last season where all defensive starters returned, there seems to be a turnover.   Depth guys like alfonso boone and terry adams at the defensive tackle position would be missed.  FA signing terry adamns and the bears 3rd round pick(some dude from texas A&M) should fill their roles. Well Tank Johnson is in jail and we all know what a bid did to the pysche of jamal lewis.  The biggest issue is lance brigg who could be traded to the redskins or bucs.  Imagine Calvin Johnson in a bears uniform if the bears somehow get the 4th pick?? wow that's most likely just a fantasy.  The bears would probably grab some offensive line and LB help with the  their ist round and early 2nd round pics.  Overall this offseason has been rough with the only saving grace probably been the draft and an healthy recovery by tommy harris. heck maybe rex grossman could learn how to make those checkdowns

The Bears offseason seems worse than it really is. Thomas Jones was going to hold out again this summer, probably even longer than he did last year, so all that would have done is caused more locker room problems. He wanted money, just like he did last year. I'm glad the Bears shipped him, since Benson showed us last year that a lot of backs will produce in the Bears run heavy offense. At least the Bears moved up a lot of picks in the second round in the Jets trade. The Tank Johnson situation also really hurts, especially since he might be suspended for at least four games at the start of the season. But the Bears did sign Anthony Adams from the 'Niners to replace him, and they still have Dusty Dvoracek, the rookie who was injured all of last year. Ian Scott might also come back to the Bears if nobody else in the league wants to sign him for more than the league minimum at defensive tackle. They'll also probably address that area in the draft, but at least Tommie Harris should be fully recovered. Plus having three above average defensive ends in Ogunleye, Anderson, and Brown will take pressure off that noseguard position, no matter who plays there. As for Birggs, you're correct, it is the biggest situation the Bears have to deal with. I don't see him being traded unless it's for a very good set of picks/players. He's extremely important for the Bears defense, so I think they'll continue to try and work out a deal for him. Even if a long term contract isn't done by the start of the season, I think he'll be back on the field by the third game or so. (Of course that's just wishful thinking right now.) The draft will be huge for the Bears, just to build some depth. They don't have any glaring holes they need to fill, especially since they have 21/22 starters coming back. That one left out is Briggs. This is a long post. :)

We saw clearly in the Superbowl, that we missed Tommie Harris on the dline. The colts literally ran all over us. Besides the one long pass to a wide open Reggie Wayne, their attack was based surprisingly enough on running the football. Why? Cuz they knew that no one else on our d-line is any good and no doublt teams were needed. Tommie is the key to our Defensive success. When he's in there its very tough to block big Brian as well. Now with Tank Johnson gone for however long, we must think D-line. I dont know how Anthony Adams will fit in our scheme yet, but what i do know is that Dusty Dvoracek played next to tommie Harris in Oklahoma, and that when he's healthy he should be productive. Ian Scott and Tank are not all that!!! We should most def look into a high value d-lineman in the middle rounds and im sure Mr. Angelo will do just that.

Secondly, this whole Lance Briggs thing is crazy. We picked him in what the 4th round? We can do that again can't we? Find a good lb, in a lb stacked draft? All lb's look great playing next to great MLB's (holdman, colvin, edgerton hartwell with ray lewis etc.) What are these guys doing now? Lance will probably be better than these guys, he's not good, but great, but when he leaves the bears, his best years are done.. bottom line!!! we can get a good athletic LB in the draft and im not worried about that and us Bears fans shouldn't be.. Mr. Angelo and Mr. Smith probly dont give a **** either. If brian and Tommie and healthy everyone looks good. when they're not we dont!!!

Third, Adam Archuleta deal, the best of the offseason. Talk about value. Lovie knows him best and we need that type of Safety the most right now. He will fit right in our system and be very very effective. Talk about value. We got him for peanuts money and a 6th round pik. Kudos Jerry and Lovie! Huge!!!

Overall i think we're in great shape... We are positioned very well for the draft and can do just about anything we want. Our key to returning to the superbowl will be based on two things. Rex's play and Tommie Harris's Health. this is my opinion.. but its true.. Who the **** would've ever thought that the freakin colts would run all the **** over us man!!!! Smart coaching and game plalinning by Dungy and Co.. Addai and Rhodes lookied like pro bowlers man!!!!

The Bears really only have one problem: Tyrannosaurus Rex Grossman. Briggs has broken many laws of Championship behaviors, so the Football Gods will punish him soon. He is going to Washington. He should be happy there!! everyone else is! hahaha
