In response to:
Michigan QB cleared for return
Michigan senior quarterback Chad Henne is making progress from his right knee injury and has received medical clearance to play again. Coach Lloyd Carr wasn't making any promises at his Monday news conference, though, that Henne would return this week at Northwestern.
In his press conference on Monday Lloyd Carr said that while Henne was cleared to play medically it was still a decision he would have to make. It was also clear that while Mallett did a fine job on Saturday there were still some things Carr didn't like about his performance, not the least of which was his behavior after scoring his first touchdown. So while Henne is good to go medically Lloyd has yet to officially decide. I can see why he would be hesitant. Why risk it for a game against Northwestern? Mallett handled Notre Dame and PSU, so he should be able to handle Northwestern. Of course I'm sure that statement will come back to haunt me just like the nightmares I have about the Appalachian State game. And by the way, it was his first collegiate touchdown Lloyd. Let the kid celebrate a little. It's not like he was taunting the other team or going overboard with it or anything. There's no need to call him out on it like that in the national media.
Also, has anyone else noticed the way Carr treats the TV people who ask him questions on his way to the locker room for halftime? This is one thing a like about Lloyd. Whether he's winning or losing he won't hide his disdain for them and the stupid questions they ask. I especially like it when the reporter will make a statement (not even a question, e.g. "Ohio State's defense has been tough in the first half") and Lloyd just looks at them as if it's the most assinine thing he's ever heard and keeps walking without saying anything.
Chuck Norris doesn't bowl strikes, he just knocks down one pin and the other nine faint.

Henne's lost the last 4 games he started. Mallet's one the last two. Although he's a senior, Henne still makes boneheaded freshman errors (throwing into coverage, taking sacks, having balls batted down at the line of scrimmage). Hopefully coach Carr will learn something from the U.S. women's soccer team which lost to Brazil when the coach decided at the last minute to substitute the experienced goalie over the rookie who "got them there".
