I caught the end of the Alaska Wild game against the Fairbanks Grizzlies on a local television station tonight and I pondered the question: how do these teams even come into existence?
Does anyone really watch indoor football?
The indoor pigskin has its entertaining moments, and kicking the ball through those narrow uprights requires athletic skill, but the game itself is second rate.
The officiating is mediocre, the tackling is mediocre, even the dancing girls are mediocre.
I give the players and coaches involved in indoor football some credit for playing hard with an honest effort, but with all the competition for people's attention these days, indoor football has no chance. They are fighting a losing game they have already lost.
