The Twins defeated the Indians today 8-3. Through 25 games the Twins are 16-9, first in their division. This just may be the Twins year this year. Liriano has come back to life this year and has been the dominate force he was when he burst onto the Twins club in the 2006 season. Delmon Young showed up in shape this year prepared for the season, while he may have a low BA average at .261 but he has come through in some clutch games and situations.
Jim Thome is having a fine start to the season with 5 homeruns and 13 RBI's and he is doing a great job for the Twins wether it's coming of the bench of dhing. What can we say about Mauer except for that he is producing like he has always done and is in for a great season but the man on the Twins who is having an amazing start to the season is not Mauer but Morneau. Morneau has one more hit than mauer and six homeruns which is 5 more tham Mauer. Morneau has drivin 18 guys and has 55 total bases on this young season.
Orlando Hudson and Micheal Cuddyer are both off to a prett good start. Both have .308 batting averages and they both have 2 stolen bases. Cuddyer has 3 homeruns while Hudson has two. This Twins line-up is pretty solid from top to bottom and should give even the best of pitchers some fits throughout this season.
Pitching wise Liriano is a beast so far and should continue to do so barring injury. Blackburn, Slowley, and Baker have not had the best of starts to this young season with high ERA but should settle down nicely in the long haul for the Twins. The bullpen has not missed Joe Nathen one bit so far as surprising as that sounds but Rauch has done a magnificent job stepping in for the injured all star Nathen. Rauch is 7 for 8 on save opportunities. This year should be a great one for the Twins and even be the year they beat the dreaded Yankees and win the World Series
