I'll admit I've been to a few home games in Athens where I might have had a few too many to drink, and let the visiting fans know what I thought about their team. Alabama fans took it one step further, by throwing beer on the University of Georgia President and players after the overtime win in Tuscaloosa.
Don't get me wrong it's every fans right to give the visiting team and its fans hell. That's why we look foward to home games. We heckle them, boo when a call doesn't go our way. I think there is a line that is drawn, and a few Alabama fans crossed that line with the way they reacted to the outcome of a very good game between Alabama and Georgia. If you cant aprreciatea a good rivalry then your destroying the atmosphere of the game.
Coach Nick Saban didn't let this slide. He let the Bama faithful know that as a fan you are a part of the team and what it represents. He basically said if you can't be respectul after a loss, then your not going to be respected in a win. Also, it's only Saban's first year as head coach, so it's ridiculous for people to already say that he's a waste because Alabama has lost two games. I think he will do great things in Tuscaloosa, just give it time.
