This could get interesting....
First off, Whoever is calling the plays actually did a decent job last week against the Packers...there weren't as many 3rd and 10 checkdowns and runs. Speaking of runs, thats what the pass defense seems to have. Right now they are 28th in the league in pass defense, with 1067 yards, giving that up to Joey Harrington, Jon Kitna, Damon Huard, and Brett Favre. Of that, obviously, only Favre and Kitna are respectable quarterbacks. The first thing they need is a solid 2nd CB....If they do trade Chester Taylor to the Bucs, I would try to get Brian Kelly as part of the deal, he may not be great, but he's a veteran, and that should at least improve the secondary.
Next, they have to do something about Bryant McKinnie. The guy just signed a huge contract, and now he can't stop anyone!!! They have an excellent offensive line for run blocking, but there are serious holes in the pass protection. Birk and Hutch are rocks, but everyone else seems to be interchangeable.
Finally, THEY NEED PRESSURE ON THE QUARTERBACK!!!!! They had most of their sacks against the Falcons and Lions, both mof which don't have a respectable line. The Chiefs have a terrible line and the Vikes mustered ONE SACK!
Also, If they get a top 5 pick next year, its time for Secret Squirrel to give up on Tarvaris Jackson and go with Brohm, Woodson, or possibly Brennan.

If they switch Hutchinson and Mckinney, problem solved. Hutch has lateral movement and Mckinney doesn't. Mckinney would be great inside. It's so simple. The vikes should also go back and look at some game film of the old vikes that set the record for points in a season and try some of those tactics.
And yes, bring in a good defensive back with some of the cap money...
