I'm a Jets fan first and foremost, but I follow a few other teams. I think the Raiders got better this offseason, followed by the Redskins, Seahawks, maybe even the Browns. But I have to wonder what happened to the Jaguars?
I remember a few years ago guys like Brunell were tossing to Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell, while Fred Taylor busted 60 yard runs up the middle. What the hell happened? Did they give up on offense? Is the GM not concerned with playmakers? I think they are the ultimate mediocre team. In the past 2 years they added Torry Holt to upgrade the passing game.
Dave Gerrard is a good QB. He's better than people give him credit. He doesn't make mistakes 15TD's 10INT's in 09. He's thrown for 3500 yards with no real receivers. That's over 200 yards a game to guys like Kasim Osgood and Troy Williamson?
Anyway, heres the point. This team has Maurice Jones Drew and Mike Sims-Walker as the RB/WR playmaker. Beyond that, who do they have? If your a team playing them you can put 8 guys in the box, and double Mike Walker and the Jags are handled. Point is, can we get some depth? Some playmaker? They signed NONE and drafted NONE. How can they have a better 2010, than 2009 without changing anything?
I like Walker, but they can currently get Terrell Owens and Lavernues Coles and improve the passing game. I know they have Rashad Jennings as a backup RB, but hopefully an improved passing game would take the pressure off of the running game.
Am I the only one that thinks this team is unbalanced?
