These are my rankings but I firmly believe that they are correct. I welcome all comments and criticism, which is what polls are all about!

1. LSU Tigers - While they struggled for 1 half against Tulane, they still have beaten two top 25 teams in South Carolina and Virginia Tech, something not accomplished by U.S.C.

2. California Golden Bears - They are over U.S.C. because of the fact there wins over Oregon and Tennessee are more impressive than anything on U.S.C.'s schedule.

3. USC Trojans - They are here because there only big win of the year was over Nebraska, an extremely overrated team to this day.

4. USF Bulls - There is no other team with two more impressive wins, at Auburn and West Virginia.

5. Ohio State Buckeyes - They seem to be here by default because of there undefeated record so far, but there are no impressive wins yet. The Big Ten is still on a bit of a hangover from being overrated last year.

6. Florida Gators - This is the best one loss team in the country. They MUST win this weekend to keep their national title hopes alive. The true test is going unbelimished the rest of the way in the gauntlet that is the S.E.C.

7. Oklahoma Sooners - Another 1 loss team ahead of some unbeatens, but it's hard to see this team being beat the rest of the way. Despite the loss they are still the class of the Big 12.

8. Oregon Ducks - And they call baseball a game of inches, Oregon is an inch short of a chance of being second in my rankings.

9. Kentucky Wildcats - What a great story, Andre Woodson is what College Football is all about. Two tough wins outscoring Louisville and a great comeback against a tough Arkansas team.

10. South Carolina Gamecocks - When your only loss is to LSU you shouldn't be that far down the rankings.

11. Boston College Eagles - As of now the class of the ACC, which isn't saying too much.

12. Georgia Bulldogs - Tough loss to South Carolina, but this teams seems to always be in the mix as a contender for the S.E.C. championship.

13.  West Virginia Mountaineers - This is a good team, USF is just their kryptonite, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Mountaineers run the table the rest of the way.

14.  Wisconsin Badgers - How this team is ranked number 5 is beyond me, their wins are unimpressive against weak competition up to this point in the season.

15.  Virginia Tech Hokies - Their only loss is to LSU but it was a blowout so South Carolina is higher in these rankings.

16. Hawaii Warriors - They are undeafeted but their schedule is nowhere near the strenght of Boise State's last year, even if they run the table they will be left out of the BCS Bowls. Still looking forward to the Boise State matchup though.

17. Missouri Tigers - LSU are not the only undefeated Tigers in the country and these cats WILL make a run at the Big 12 title.

18. Cincinatti Bearcats - The Bearcats defense gives them a chance against anyone in the country, don't count them out in the Big East race.

19.  Arizona State Sun Devils - This is an undeafeated team so far but in a few weeks they play Cal, Oregon, UCLA and USC in a row, then we will really find out how good they are.

20. Texas Longhorns - This was the most overrated team in the country add that to all the off the field issues, even 20 may be high.

21. Rutgers Scarlet Knights - That weak schedule didn't help prepare the knights for Maryland, it only gets tougher from here on out starting with Cincinatti this weekend.

22.  Purdue Boilermakers - They are 5-0 but with no major victories, Ohio State this weekend will be a huge test for this squad.

23. Clemson Tigers - This team better hope they don't hit the second half funk like they did last year.

24. Illinois Fighting Illini - Good win over Penn State, they have a chance  for two straight top 25 wins against a suspect Wisconsin team.

25. Auburn Tigers - Yes a two loss team, but they still have one of the best defenses in the country and Brandon Cox is learning to just manage the game.

And here are the next 5...

26. Kansas State Wildcats

27. Florida State Seminoles

28. Miami Hurricanes

29. Michigan Wolverines

30. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Great posting... although I question placing Cal a notch above USC, I can fully agree that's how things are looking thus far. Things will shake out some over the next few weeks, but I think you've got it just about right. Please follow up with more of your "polls" as the season progresses.
