bcos4life: It's Miller time

Well, we have wrapped up the season... good one in my opinion, but there is still a lot that needs to happen between now and next season for the Avs to further there development. We will go by position. Center-No changes. With Stastny and Duchene leading the charge, the first to lines are centered by some real playmakers. O'Rielly and Yelle are ideal for what you want your 3rd and 4th line center's to look like. And worst case scenario, Mueller is a natural center. Wings-Upgrade slightly-Galiardi, Stewart, Hedjuk, McCleod, Mueller, Jones and Yip are guaranteed a spot next year. That leaves Tucker (please trade), Hendricks, Durno, Koci, Porter, Stoa and Svatos to fight for that last spot. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if Tucker and Svatos were traded. They have both underperformed and are overpaid. Hendricks may get the spot but he is a little long in the tooth to be going into his second season at the top level. Durno, Porter and Stoa are all being pushed in too early and need some more time. So I propose that the Avs go spend the money on... Ilya Kovelchuk. He is in his prime, and the Avs are one of the few teams that have the money. Defense-Footer still has one good year left in him. Liles showed that he is worth his contract and is no longer in the dog house. Cumisky is the apple of Sacco's eye and is great. Wilson had a great year and may be the heir apparent to Foote as far as the bruiser goes. There is still one more pairing that goes... and it will go to Shattenkirk and Scott Hannan. Hannan has really turned it on this year and earned his pay. The sad thing is that Clark is either the 7th D man, or out. Selei is gone. Goaltender-For the first time in a long time... we are set at starter. Anderson is the toast of the town and never folded. But he can't be overused again. His overuse almost cost the Avs this year and they can't let it get that bad again. I think it would be good for everyone involved if Budaj moved on and stuck somewhere else. Tyler Weiman is in the wings and could make a steller back up goalie. He has already played for the Avs a few times and could do some fantastic things for them.
