The Thing (Blog) That Should Not Be.

In the bottom of the 9th, with two men on and two outs, Manny Ramirez tattooed a Francisco Rodriguez pitch up and past the Coca-Cola bottle and down into the Boston streets. The walk off 3R HR gave the Boston Red Sox a 2-0 series lead over the AL West Champion Angels.

I was lying in my bed screaming about the Angels intentionally walking Ortiz. It was the fourth time they had walked him on the night. Ramirez had not done much but get K'd or draw a walk during the night. I was thinking..."It wouldn't hurt if Manny just pulled a HR over the Monster seats right about now. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't, or if he did. Come on Manny, 3R HR." Manny being Manny followed through and sent Fenway into a frenzy.

And this seemingly is a trend for me. The times that I do catch a Boston game on TV, I've called HR's for the Sox. On multiple occasions I have sat at the TV, listened to the announcer say that Ortiz hasn't hit a HR in a while, and I just simply say he'll hit one. And then, BOOM! I don't know about you, but I feel really cool when that happens.

Moving on, Nation...

I'm not going to do a summary of the game. That is the job of fellow FanNation user Coletrain. He will more than likely be posting it today from the MLB Fan Club. The purpose of this blog is pretty simple: Gloating.

Cardsox started a bet with a hiya about which of the two rivals would go deeper in the playoffs. The bet eventually became a six person bet with myself challenging B0mb3rs. Three Red Sox fans involved in individual bets with a Yankee fan. So we've got Cardsox/hiya, nomarfan/Lifer, and Mac/B0mb3rs.

I would like to formally thank Manny Ramirez and Travis Hafner for delivering a victory in this bet. Yes, I know. The two DS series are far from over. Boston still has to travel to the west coast and face the best home team in the AL. The Indians still have to travel to Yankee Stadium and face "The Rocket". But I don't care. Boston was the best team during the regular season for a reason. After tonight, Boston does without a doubt NOT fear K-Rod. If anything, the Red Sox stance on K-Rod is: "K-Rod who?" And the Indians will be able to put C.C. and Carmona back on the hill if the series would go four or even five games. And judging by the way Carmona looked tonight with his nine innings of domination, the Yankees wouldn't stand much of a chance. THE EMPIRE WILL NOT STRIKE BACK.

So B0mb3rs, I know this is a little premature but it looks like I'm going to win.

BAM!!!!!!!!!!
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
