Sports Editorial: Lebron James Not Playing for the Eastern Conference Finals 2010

Aerospace News

Lebron James has had a tremendous career playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. James has become the most dominate basketball player in the Eastern Conference. However in 2010, its the Boston Celtics playing versus the Orlando Magic playing for the East not the Cleveland Cavaliers.
I don't think if James plays for another team it would hurt his standing as a Cavalier even though that last playoff series his play was not Lebron James-like. In fact that performance by Lebron James in the series versus the Celtics was as hideous, atrocious, disgusting, and horrendous of a performance one didn't expect from King James. That was some horrible basketball, and I wasn't sure if Lebron James elbow was hurting him or somebody in the arena left the door open. That was ridiculous, and Lebron James fans were surprised from the uncanny play which rubbed off on the Cavs. I don't think the Celtics were that good although against the Cavs they played well.
Today I heard on the radio (AM830 KLAA w/ass ESPN 710 Los Angeles)that Doug Collins was talking to the Philadelphia 76ers regards to a possible coaching job. That was one of those quick news flash reports. Doug Collins was coach of the Chicago Bulls before Phil Jackson coached the Bulls when Michael Jordan was first coming into the NBA. I thought about it: Doug Collins, Lebron James, Lebron James, Doug Collins!
Sometimes one needs to break the ice for something to move forward. In the Lebron James situation, there is a lot of pressure of him staying in Cleveland with the reports influencing that he still has unfinished business as a Cavalier to win a World Championship. There is this side that gives the impression that since James played high school in the area, he is committed on staying local to play the rest of his career. With the Cavs, James gets the first chance to sign with the largest amount of money.
What we seen in Sports and in the NBA is somehow there seems to be this pressure given on the players on how the sponsors, advertisers, and networks want the Finals to end up. Right now its Boston and LA the sports radio personalities are promoting. It is an intreguing match up if your a basketball fan whether Lebron James is playing or not. There continues to be this pressure for Lebron James to play against Kobe Bryant in the Finals since the teams seem to match up well in the regular season, but in 2010 that is not going to happen where both the Celtics and Lakers lead in their series 2-0. Neither series is over.
Some Teams or Cities, because it also comes down to city, marketing, and ratings I think Lebron James ought to consider to play are two. First considering match ups, ratings, and an attempt to play the Boston Celtics next year 2011 the Atlantic division is a strong idea I think Lebron James ought to play.
First I think Lebron James ought to consider is playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. When I first started watching basketball, Julius "the doctor" Erving was my favorite basketball player. He represented a super athlete on the court making moves nobody matched and class on and off the court. As a Lakers fan always rooting for the Lakers, Dr. J was a feared player, and I ll never forget when the 76ers swept the Lakers 1983 that season in spectacular fashion. Its been a long time since the 76ers won a World Championship, and I miss those Boston/Philadelphia match ups in the playoffs where ratings are good for those games.
I d like to see Lebron James play for the Philadelphia 76ers. The City has the best people, best fans, and it's a great sports town. The Phillies are the best team in the National League in baseball right now. The Flyers are on top of there game in Hockey. The Eagles are always a consistent tough football team. Philadelphia is arguably one of the top sports City in the United States.
The New Jersey Nets also is a good team to consider playing for. The Nets have a very ambitious owner that wants to win, and it seems as if he is willing to spend the money to get players. Both the Nets and 76ers are both teams that need to rebuild. Lebron James will instantly bring any one of those teams at least to .500 the first season. But Lebron James wants to win that Championship so why is he considering or there is talk about him playing for the New York Knicks? Playing for the Knicks can ruin your career I think.
Ratings are key in this decision on where to play. If there is this influence by whomever to get match ups a certain way, then Lebron James will have to work around that. The Philadelphia 76ers is a very strong and good place to consider and Lebron James will have that rematch versus the Boston Celtics 2011 if he chooses to play there. I think for Lebron James the 76ers is the best choice to play because 1. It's close to Cleveland and it will not be that drastic of a move where His fans can continue to follow & support Him, 2. Philadelphia is a good sports city, and you will not have any issues on pressures over ratings if that is what is going on, and 3. I don't think by going to another team it will affect James spectacular career as a Cavalier.
