The word you are searching for here is PARITY, not parody. The excuse for our team being so mediocre is parity. To call Nebraska's performance against Missouri last night a game at all, now THAT is a PARODY, because it was not a game at all, just a giant embarrassment.

Correct Sharon, thanks. Parody definition: "Something so bad as to be equivalent to intentional mockery". Callahan means "parity", you are correct, but I mean "parody" which is what our beloved Husker program has become. A mockery of "good teams".

Very well said. I'm not sure that firing Callahan will happen anytime soon. Unfortunately, SP has a lot of faith in him (see contract extension), so it looks like we're stuck - for now. This will surely back-fire for Steve because, despite the lack of talent after four years of recruiting, this team is going nowhere under Callahan's guidance. Firing Cosgrove? A big Hell Yes, but after the season is over. The players deserve that. After dismantling the pride of the Blackshirts and the rest of the Husker Nation, it's time for him to move on before any further damage is done. GO HUSKERS!

Chicago, I know you are right, but I'm just hoping enough pressure is applied that Cosgrove is out no matter what (surely that is a given at this point), but in truth a buyout of Callahan's contract is fine with me as well. He is KILLING the future of our team with every additional day he spends with us. We need to get back to who we are, and that is grind it up football, nasty and mean defensive players, and a team that physically beats you up each and every game you play them. You know,,,, the OLD Husker team !

HumCo, I actually played high school hoops against Rathman when he was at Grand Island High. Huge guy even then ! And the Huskers of today could sure use his toughness !

When I was in school and students failed they looked at the teacher, something wasn't getting across. Obviously this is what has happened with our football team! Callahan has poor judgement and communication with the boys. Cosgrove is another story....he is riding Callahan's shirttail he doesn't know how to coach! Boys you ain't gettin it across!!!!!!! It is obvious the football team has no drive left in them! It is apparent Pedersen keeps Callahan because he doesn't want to be hated by himself and Callahan keeps Cosgrove because they are buds! Isn't this suppose to be about football guys? Sad we are letting Callahan take down Husker History .... bring Solich back!

Peterson, Callahan and Cosgrove need to go now! Perlman needs to appoint an interm coach to finish the year and then reevaluate the entire program. This year brings back sad memories of the 1950's where they even hung Coach Bill Glasford in effigy.

This program is in the process of a total melt-down and it all can be directly linked to the coaching staff. When you recruit 3, 4 and 5 star players and get results that that are sub par to a mediocre high school team, that my friends is a coaching problem.

Bring Solich back? No. He is not the answer.

We need a head coach who is motivated, and know how to instill drive and the willingness to sacrifice to the good of the team, along with a coaching staff that knows great offense and defense.

Completely agree with Bugeater's statement from yesterday. I think the coach you're referring to could've been Pelini. I'm not so sure now. There are rumors (supposedly credible ones, but you know how that goes) that Pedersen is out, several assistant coaches are out, and Callahan stays. Can any insiders verify?

Perlman did the right thing hiring TO. Tom is a great choice and only Tom can unify this state again. I fully understand TO:s plan to evaluate the coaches at seasons end. This is the right way to do it.

Will be can Callahan at the end of the season? I believe it entirely depends on how Nebraska finishes the year.

Lets let Tom make the calls now and cheer on the Huskers good or bad.

I'll cheer in my heart for the Huskers, but I won't be crying tears of sadness if we keep losing. It is the only way I can feel confident Callahan will be fired this year. I'm more than willing to take it on the chin if it means getting rid of this guy. He has destroyed decades of excellence in a mere four years. And if I read one more quote from him saying he "thinks he's doing an excellent job" I may throw myself off a bridge.
