This was a good game if you are a Sooner fan, and a frustrating game for the Longhorns faithful.

The key to the Oklahoma victory had to be the 12th man on defense.  His name is Jamaal Charles.  Wait you say, he is the Longhorns running back.  Once again, Charles found a way to hurt Texas, and since this was not Arkansas State of UCF, the Longhorns were unable to recover.  Charles on the opening drive of the second half fumbled the ball at the Oklahoma 2 yard line which was recovered by, that's right OU.  A sure touchdown almost guaranteed, and this kid cannot seem to keep the ball in his hands.  Part of the problem is he does not cover the ball when going into traffic, and seems to have no peripheral vision to spot people to his sides.  Charles's second mistake came in the 4th quarter when Mccoy hit him on a pass out of the backfield.  Maybe the pass was a little high, but Charles made a jump that put the ball right in his hands.  Ultimately, the ball was tipped and intercepted by OU, and Texas never saw momentum again.

Mccoy, overall, looked better in this game than in the rest, leading me to believe he is/was just scared of Kansas State.  He took a couple of sacks in the 4th that he should have been able to get rid of the ball, but after throwing 4 interceptions last week, I am sure he was worried about more picks.  Mccoy needs to work on his toughness and the ability to read his receivers routs if he wishes to start ahead of Sherrod Harris and John Chiles next year, but as for now it really does not matter.

All in all, Texas gave it a fair shot in a game many thought could be a blowout, but OU was just better.  Personally, I wondered why Stoops did not continue his air raid of the Texas secondary like he did on OU's 3rd drive in the first quarter, as I think the Sooners could have done more.  Great game goes to Oklahoma's Sam Bradford.  Any freshman that can step into a rivalry game such as this and play the way he did deserves it.

OU knocks Texas to 0-2 in conference play for the first time since 1956 (I read that somewhere), but Texas manages to stay ranked in the AP and Coaches poll..........for now.
